  • I'd Like to Present...My Mathematical Thinking

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation of a stool, construction paper, and math wipe off boards to our class. We got off to a great starts with math boards. Students have been able to use them to add and subtract on a hunderd chart, open and closed number lines, and ten frames. The children in my class have gained so much confidence by using the boards.

After completing their math work, the students love to come up and present their mathematical thinking while sitting on the new stool. They feel like a teacher up there...and they are. They have the chance to show others how they solved their work. Others in the class gain insights into different ways of thinking and then apply that in their own work.

Once again, thank you for your support for our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Banoff

  • Listen Up!

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of a class set of headphones to my classroom. The students were so excited when our order came in. They couldn't believe that there are people out there as generous as you! They all chose their favorite color headphones and we labeled them. They took pride in having their own "cool" headphones. They have been treating them with care and being responsible with them, since they are their own sets.

We have been able to complete many activities and assessments on our iPads. Your donation has changed our way of life on the classroom!”

  • Literacy Support for 2nd Graders

    Funded May 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards. We have used these gift cards to purchase amazing resources that have helped strengthen our English Language Arts and Math skills. We purchased many materials that help us teach a structured literacy program. This program has allowed our students with the very little reading skills to increase their sound/letter knowledge and begin reading. They have been excited to partake in our new program and their self esteem has increased along with their skills!

Thank you for this amazing opportunity!”

  • Did You Hear the (Scholastic) News?!

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of Scholastic News Magazine to my 2nd grade class. We are having so much fun reading about various topics in science and social studies.

My students were so excited to receive their very own "newspaper" that they can read. They love looking at the photos that go along with the news stories.

Their favorite part of Scholastic News might be the digital component. Today they watched a detailed video of how spiders catch their pray and then worked as a class to create their own spiders.

Thanks so much for your generous donation!”

  • The Art of Language

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of art sparkly crayons, glitter pens, and other art supplies to my 2nd grade class. They have been able to use the art supplies to create amazing responses to texts that we have been reading. You have given them the tools for creative expression that also allows them to communicate. We have used their artistic responses as jumping boards for conversation. They have been able to speak about their art and respond to text like never before. They have been so proud of their work and that is all thanks to you!”

  • STEAMing With Excitement

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. The STEAM toys arrived at our school and my students were so excited about the new materials. They felt so loved when I told them that these learning toys were donated by people who believed in them and their abilities. We are all so grateful for your generosity.

The students got right to building and problem solving as soon as we opened up the boxes. The possibilities with these materials are endless! They have been enjoying creating skyscrapers and bridges like the ones we are studying during our New York City unit of study. These toys are helping them across subject areas and they have been such a wonderful gift. We can't thank you enough!”

  • Research it, Print it!

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation of a color printer and ink to my classroom. We used the printer to print out color posters of our comprehension strategies and our behavior management system. The students have been able to utilize the posters during everyday routines and lessons. The posters create a bright and inviting space in our classroom.

My students love to look at the colors of the different levels in our classroom behavior management system. They work all year to get to the YELLOW peregrine falcon level in our Whole Brain Teaching classroom and the bright yellow poster makes them even more excited to get there!

    Thank you so much.”

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation of copy paper, printer ink, and dozens of pencils to my 2nd grade class. We have been working on a Nocturnal Animals unit of study and we have been able to print countless resources with these donated items. It is so nice to be able to give my students this opportunity. They did so much research on different animals and have made nocturnal animals out of geometric shapes. They loved cutting out the printed shapes and gluing them together to make their creations!

We are so grateful for your generosity!”
