The Salmon River High School serves just under 500 students in 9th-12th grade. It is a small rural school district located in the northernmost reaches of New York State. Nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and on the shore of the Saint Lawrence, as well as the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation. Thanks to Title VII and the Johnson O'Malley federally-funded programs, Salmon River CSD provides educational enrichment programming for its Mohawk student population, which comprises 66 percent of the total school enrollment. Salmon River is one of 13 districts within New York State which contracts to provide an education to its Native American students.
