These books will help further my students SEL experiences and provide a nurturing approach to our differences, as well as, our similarities. Seedfolks is a very special, message packed, tiny book that speaks to everyone. Told from 13 different perspectives ranging from a young Vietnamese girl to a hunky African American young man to Caucasian retired janitor, Seedfolks invites us into these characters shared community and teaches us the importance of interconnectivity. Although the majority of my students are African American, they will be able to relate to all the characters as their experiences can be quite similar. Each of the 13 perspectives will teach my students empathy and the universal lesson that we are all more similar than we are different. Please consider.
