Our school is one of the most diverse elementary schools in the US. A majority of a students are refugees from war torn countries around the world such as Somalia and Burma. Therefore, many of our students have English as a second language. In addition to this, the students in my classroom have an array of special needs such as Autism, developmental delays, speech impairments, and medical difficulties. The one time my students can pull together as a group is during music time! Many of my students do not speak or cannot sing the songs, but they CAN participate through the use of instruments.
