  • STEM Bin Exploration!

    Funded Oct 16, 2021

My students have been loving the STEM bin materials. They were so excited when I first showed them. Each week my classes follow a rotation. Part of the rotation is STEM centers. We use these materials during our center rotations. Sometimes they have free choice where they can explore on their own, where other times they have set challenges to use the materials. These materials, such as the magnetic tiles, problem-solving puzzles, marble run, Picasso Tiles, and Straws spark their creativity each and every time they are used. I love watching them create new designs and projects each time. Every "center day" yields new discoveries. Thank you so much for helping to support this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DeLaurentis

  • Coding in STEM!

    Funded Sep 15, 2021

Thank you so much for your contributes to our coding project. Due to your generous donations, my students have had the chance to explore the world of coding. When they first saw the robots they were beyond excited. They cheered and squealed with excitment! They asked me every day when we would be working with them. When the time finally came they were trilled, to say the least.

We've also had the chance to use many of the books to support our lessons as well as use them as an individual exploration center.

Thank you so much! You have made a world of difference!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DeLaurentis

This year I will be creating a new Pre-K - 2nd grade STEM program for my school. This project-based program will be a first for my students. I want to introduce these new topics in a fun and engaging way, and teach them to use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills within a variety of topics. These items will help my students learn to code using age-appropriate coding robots. They will also add reading books to our library that align with our learning topics as well as add a gear center to our exploration center rotation.
