A Strong Start
Funded Jul 11, 2024Thank you for your generosity in donating to my classroom. I appreciate the help so much. The students were so excited to get their new folders, pencils, white board markers, glue, and supply buckets. All of the extra supplies add up when I purchase them on my own. You have helped take some of this financial burden and I am ever grateful.
We are two months into the school year and the beginning-of-year supplies are already drying up and sharpened down. Thanks to your kindness I am able to replace what the students need. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me this school year.”

Mrs. Hastings
Kick Start
Funded Sep 25, 2023All of the students in our classroom were so excited to be able to play our favorite physical education game with real soccer equipment. We are so grateful that you chose to donate to our project and our classroom. We shared your generosity of the soccer goals and soccer balls with the other classes in our grade-level so many more students were recipients of your gift.
Physical Education is at its best when most kids are moving most of the time. Four Goal Soccer is the best game for that because now we have enough equipment for everyone to play at once.
Thank you again for choosing to help our classroom.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021We really enjoying this follow up novel to Wonder. When I revealed the new class novel, everyone cheered with excitement. They are fascinated by the Julian Chapter and we are having rich discussion about ethics, empathy, and considering the character's perspectives and personal history.
We love reading the story together as a class and are really invested in the lessons we can learn and apply to our lives. Some of the lessons students have mentioned is treating others with kindness no matter what they look like. Another lesson is about how some actions and words can escalate drama or emotional conflict, and things we can do so we don't "cross the line."
We are ever grateful for this gift of Auggie and Me. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded Dec 27, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations to our AVID project. With this new AVID initiative, we are doing our best to show our students the different kinds of educational options that could be in their future.
Everyone had a great time at Chapman University. The tour guides were knowledgeable, and the students loved the campus. There were even a few students who stated, "I'm going here one day." They learned about all of the perks about going to a small university, like the small class sizes, individual attention from professors during office hours, and the extra help at the Center for Academic Success.
Between classes, we were able to see so many different kinds of students of many ethnic backgrounds. This trip did it's job in showing students they could, one day, attend a private university.”

New Year, Fresh Start
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. We are using all the materials to help us take notes, annotate text, stay organized, and show work collaboratively.
Everyone was so excited when they saw all of our Amazon boxes. There were a lot of "oohs" and "wows" when we opened the boxes as a class.
Thanks to your your monetary donation supporting our project, we will not run out of supplies this year. Having new supplies motivates students to work and be engaged. Everyone is taking good care of their personal erasable pens and are careful not to lose, ruin or misuse them. They were in awe that a pen could be erased and most excited about using the Mr. Sketch markers for group posters.
Thank you again for your help and support. I really appreciate it.”

Funded Apr 9, 2019Your monetary contribution to this project has helped me fill my classroom store with new items. The students are always grateful for things they get to purchase, but the new items really made their eyes light up. I could see the excitement in all of the students who shopped through the fidget bracelets, "squishies," finger lights, and cute animal erasers. We are near the end of our school year, but we are still working hard to master sixth grade standards and finish the year strong. All of the students are still earning classroom dollars for homework, classroom jobs, and when they are caught making the right choice. Thank you so much for helping our classroom.”

Funded Dec 20, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. We have been using the Math Talks daily, and it has changed the way we all approach math computation problems. It is strengthening the way we problem solve and helping us solve problems mentally by giving us alternative ways to break numbers into more manageable pieces. I am so grateful that you chose my project. Not only is it improving students' math skills, but it is also making them more confident in solving computation problems with bigger numbers. This program is also giving me the opportunity to grow and improve in my math instruction.”

Write On!
Funded Jul 24, 2018Although we are just a few months in, your generous donation has helped all of our students be ready to learn. Everyone loves their new pencil sharpeners too. We are so grateful we no longer have to use the hand crank sharpener on the wall, or the old electric sharpener that only sharpens the tip half way. With this project, we are able to have pencils at our intervention tables too, so students can start their work quickly.
As you can see in the pictures, we love our new pencils so much, we won't let them go to waste. Some of our students love to use them down to the smallest pencil they can hold. Thanks to you, we no longer have to worry about not having a pencil to give to someone in need.”

Listening for Literacy
Funded Feb 15, 2018Your generous donation has allowed us to create video projects with ease. They have used the headphones with microphones to record student voices for animations in a program called Scratch. Students are also able to record and listen to themselves in other programs called SeeSaw and Flip Grid. They can practice for oral presentations, listen, and improve their delivery.
When recording without these microphone headsets, students would always pick up background noises in class. Now, they don't have that problem. We have also used the headphones for testing; the students are able to listen to the testing system read to them. Your donation has made a huge impact in our classroom. We are ever grateful.”

Funded Nov 21, 2017The goal for Physical Education is to have most of the students moving most of the time. Research shows that this physical activity also helps students be engaged and concentrate when they are in class. The more students move outside, the better they are inside. Your donations that funded this project have helped this to become a reality. The equipment is being used by the entire sixth grade class.
In our school of about 600 students, the Physical Education program shared equipment with recess. This results in not having all the equipment we need to do our activities. We would have five basketballs for thirty students. Now most, if not all, students are engaged in our P.E. activity or game. They love P.E. even more that they have enough equipment to use.
I especially see a difference in the students who usually choose to be last because they feel awkward or don't want people watching them. Those students participate more because a lot of people are playing and not watching on the sidelines.
Thank you so much! We are ever grateful.”
