  • Art Kits for Remote Learning Sculpture Class

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped me create art kits for my sculpture students. Even though my students are learning at home they have been able to make some really amazing work. I have been so proud of the work that they have created. I hope you have a chance to look at the photos that I posted of some of the wire and plaster figures, the plaster masks, and the ofrendas and memorials that they made. Many students have told me sculpture is their favorite class, and one of the few times during the school day that they can relax and decompress. I am so happy to get them away from the computer screen for part of the day and creating amazing art with their hands. None of that could have happened with out your donation. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mullkoff

  • Shelving and Storage for New High School Sculpture Class

    Funded Sep 21, 2016

Thank you so much for your donations to our new shelving and storage for my sculpture classes. Your donation really makes it possible for us to work with clay and create large scale sculpture projects.

We are now using the canvass as covers for our tables while we work with ceramics, and using the shelves to store their work. My students have been glowing with excitement around creating art with clay. This is a new material for almost all of them, and is a form of art that brings joy to my classroom. The students are creating slab lanterns and coil vessels that will be on display around our school. After they are displayed the students will bring them home and most likely share them as gifts with their family or friends, or they may keep them themselves and use as functional works of art.

None of this would be possible with out your donations. Thank you again so much!”

  • Mat Board for AP Art Students

    Funded Feb 26, 2014

Thank you so much for your donations for the mat board for my AP art class. I only have 8 students in this class because it is a very rigorous and challenging course that only our top students and artists are prepared to take. The course is a college level course that my 8 high school seniors just completed and excelled in. There is no way that they would of been able to successfully complete what they needed to do with out the mat board to finish and mount their final piece of art work. We are so grateful for your financial support to make this possible.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mullkoff

  • Portfolios for New AP Studio Art Drawing Class

    Funded Nov 28, 2010

Thank you so much for the portfolio's for our AP art class. My students having been using Thier portfolio's every day to protect and organize their drawings. They need to make 24 finished drawings to complete the AP requirements. Because of the heavy work load of this class most of my students take their drawings home every weekend to spend more time working on them. My students have to travel far and many times in harsh weather. The portfolios that were donated help my students work stay safe from the weather, and provide a way for the student to carry their drawings home with out getting ruined.”

    With gratitude,

Kenwood Academy is a large public high school on the south side of the Chicago. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch and live under the federal poverty line. We offer many AP classes and a large variety of electives. Budget cuts have left these classes over enrolled or cut all together. As an art teacher, I see how important elective classes and courses where students can express a greater range of creativity and freedom are to so many of our students.
