I aim to create a calm and restful teaching and leaning environment in our high school classroom. We will practice mindfulness every period (4 periods per week) using crafts that have been provided by Blicks. The colored pencils, artists' pens, Yoga for your Brain and artists' card pack - Zentangle. The chalkboards, chalk pens, cotton canvas, and chalkboard flip learning boards are for providing the opportunity to respond with a creative, non-verbal response. Using our crafts supplies, my upper level high-schoolers will practice being in the present as a method to calm their minds and leave behind whatever is happening in their complicated lives, outside my classroom. I want the classroom to be a place of safety and refuge, as well as a place of learning. I hope that your donation will assist in this endeavor. Thank you.
