Funded Aug 31, 2024It is with deep gratitude that I write to thank you for providing my students with comfortable flexible seating options for our Library Media Center.
As I continue to work on updating our Library Media Center into a 21st century space for students to collaborate and learn, I have prioritized adding more comfortable seating options as an alternative to the hard wooden chairs we currently have. I want students to have a comfortable place to sit and read books in the library!
When our first few seating options arrived last year, students were so excited to have a turn to sit and read on them, so I knew we needed to add more! Students come to the library before school and at recess to sit and read, alone and with friends. The library is a place where students need to feel welcome and comfortable, and these new seats help make that happen. Comfortable seating helps students focus on the task at hand, whether they are reading independently, having a group discussion about a research topic, or working together to code robots!
Thank you for giving my students seating options that will make them feel welcome and motivated in our library media center, and support their successful learning!
Thank you for caring about my students and their education!”

Funded May 24, 2024It is with deep gratitude that I write to thank you for the craft materials, scissors, storage bags and more, which you generously donated to my students for our Library Makerspace. These materials allow students to participate in innovative STEM learning experiences.
It is amazing what kids can do with the most basic materials, such as popsicle sticks, googly eyes, pompoms, tissue paper and play-doh! Making simple materials like these available in our makerspace allows students to express themselves creatively, use their imaginations, and collaborate with peers. Even our youngest students can create something meaningful. Materials in our makerspace provide students with opportunities to solve problems creatively and collaboratively, apply engineering design concepts, and have fun! My students love learning to use familiar materials in new ways. Students learn how to collaborate and communicate through fun, creative, realistic activities.
The scissors, batteries, and tape will replenish these frequently used materials, and the storage bags will help to keep everything organized. The tangrams and pattern blocks are very popular in our puzzling center, and more students will be able to participate with these additional supplies.
Thank you for giving my students the tools they need to learn in a meaningful way as they investigate design concepts and make discoveries that support their understanding and learning, while collaborating with their peers. Thank you for caring about my students' education!”

Funded Dec 8, 2023It is with deep gratitude that I write to thank you for the Cover One book repair machine, which you generously donated to our elementary Library Media Center! With this machine, I can repair damaged books so students can continue to borrow and read them!
The mountain of books in our "book hospital" has been steadily growing over the past few years. Many of our most popular books that are frequently read have broken spines or pages falling out -- these books need to be repaired carefully and thoroughly in order to be put back on the shelves. With a library shared by four schools and 2000+ students, it is critical to keep our books in circulation as much as possible. Many of the damaged books have been on students' wishlists and hold lists just waiting to be read!
After researching my options for repairing books, it was clear that a CoverOne machine would be the only way to repair so many books effectively, so I had been holding out hope that we could get one! -- otherwise these books would not make it back to the shelves, and our library budget would not cover all of the replacements.
I am so grateful for the amazing donation of this machine - after watching videos and unboxed everything, and I was able to repair THIRTY books in a few hours that first day! It is so easy and fun to use! These books were amazingly brought back to life and look as good as new. Students who had been waiting for these books were thrilled to find out they were ready to borrow! I have since repaired over 150 books and will work my way through even more repairs this summer.
Since I have been so thrilled with the results and telling everyone about it, teachers have also brought some classroom books and texts to repair - everyone has been amazed at what this machine can do! I am so glad we can save these books for students to access! The CoverOne machine will impact our library and students for years to come!
Thank you, thank you, for helping to keep books in kids' hands and to help me foster a love of reading! Thank you for caring about my students' education!”

Funded Feb 10, 2024It is with deep gratitude that I write to thank you for the collection of Magic Tree House books, which you generously donated to my students for our elementary Library Media Center.
As I continue to work on updating our Library Media Center into a 21st century space for students to collaborate and learn, updating our library's book collection is a priority. Our Magic Tree House collection was old, missing many titles, and also did not reflect the new reorganization and numbering of the books, which separates out the Magic Tree House early series from the Merlin Missions series. As more students are getting to know Jack and Annie there have been requests for some of the missing and newer titles that we did not have, so this new collection is a welcome addition to our library shelves! The Magic Tree House books are a great starter chapter book series, and students of all ages are engaged by the adventures Jack and Annie have, as well as the learning that they do - it often inspires an interest in a new topic, so the new nonfiction Fact Tracker books are also a great addition to our library!
These books will help introduce many new readers to a wonderful series and spark their interest in learning about places and historical events. Thank you for giving my students books that will motivate them to read and to explore new books in our library. So many students will get to enjoy these books! Thank you for helping to foster my students' love of reading!”
