  • Flexible seating and Classroom Storage Materials!

    Funded Jun 13, 2019

Thank you so very much for your very generous donations! I cannot wait to return to school next year and set up with brand new materials. Our classroom will look so much more organized, students will have individual whiteboards that promote engagement during carpet time and read alouds, and students will be in a space where their sensory needs will be met with flexible seating. Please know that you have not only positively impacted the lives of 53 students this year, but that your gift will continue to impact the classroom for years and years to come. We are so blessed to experience the generosity of others who value public education as much as we do.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Boeche

  • Mobile Whiteboard!

    Funded Mar 28, 2019

Thank you so very much for your generous donation; the students jumped and screamed when I told them that our very first project was funded in just one day! My students are already benefiting from the use of our new whiteboard; we use it every single day now instead of the cabinet and makeshift carts to tape down anchor paper! The whiteboard has created engagement, makes our carpet space more functional, and cuts down on the expense of anchor chart paper and waste in general. Please know that you have not only positively impacted the lives of 53 students this year, but that your gift will continue to impact the classroom for years and years to come. We are so blessed to experience the generosity of others who value public education as much as we do.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Boeche

My students are some of the most hardworking, inquisitive, delightful people who genuinely want to learn and succeed. My students come from predominantly low-income, Spanish-speaking homes. Many live in a single-parent or guardian household or have parents that are unable to extend learning after school from working multiple jobs. Teachers at Nixon Elementary are working hard to redefine what urban education looks like for our scholars by combating the high cost of disengagement and providing them with high-quality, competitive, engaging, and relevant instruction and learning opportunities that will teach them to be inquisitive, lifelong learners, not merely students able to regurgitate facts or pass an examination.
