The laptop has been a game-changer for my students in. Firstly, it allows me to access a wide range of educational resources and tools, making lessons more engaging and interactive. With access to online platforms, multimedia resources, and educational apps, I can tailor my lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, accommodating various learning styles and abilities.

The most exciting aspect of the laptop for my students is its versatility and functionality. My students love how I can use it to incorporate multimedia elements into the lessons, such as videos, interactive presentations, and simulations, making learning more dynamic and enjoyable. Additionally, the ability to connect wirelessly to other devices in the classroom enhances collaboration and fosters a more interactive learning environment.

There are indeed particular students who have especially warmed to this technology. For example, students who are more visually or kinesthetically inclined appreciate the multimedia features that the laptop enables. These students tend to engage more actively with the lesson content when it's presented in a dynamic and interactive manner. Similarly, students who benefit from differentiated instruction appreciate how I can personalize their learning experiences using the diverse range of resources available through the laptop. Overall, this laptop has been instrumental in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes across the board.

Thank you from every part of my heart!”

  • Math Confidence

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to my project. My students were able to access the the learning presented in such a fun way. Students were 100% engaged in the activities such as the escape rooms, murder mysteries and puzzles. Many of my students had never participated in activities like this, especially at school.

Students were so excited to do things like this because they had never done them before. The activities allowed them to be critical thinkers and problem solvers. Students definitely looked forward to doing more of them and I can't wait to expose them to more things.

I had students who don't normally engage so excited and this was the more rewarding thing for me. I want to continue to look for more activities that will reach this group of students to ensure 100% of students are learning everyday.”

  • BMS Eagles Take on Financial Literacy Learning.

    Funded Aug 14, 2022

I want to thank you from every part of my heart for your continued support. Every time I have the chance to provide my students with experiences my students grow smarter. We use technology everyday in my class. One way we use technology is through our interactive presentations. Through these presentations, my students can see visually what I am displaying, ask questions verbally or through a text prompt, signal for help, and I can check for their understanding.

What Is most exciting about this project, is my students have become actively engaged in learning. Previously my students were engaged but it was very passive. I had to continue to prompt students to get focused, to pay attention, to take notes, to participate in activities. Currently, my students are so engaged I have to come up with ways to make sure everyone has a turn and that no one else is "hogging" the conversation.

Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to our continued partnership as we work together to make the world a better place.”

  • Math in the Real World!

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

As teachers, we are always charged with answering questions such as " Why should I learn this?" And " How am I going to use this?" There are times when the answer to those questions are clear, cute, and dry. There are other times when it is convoluted. There also times when I absolutely have no idea when it would be useful in every day life. With technology, I don't have to know all the answers. I can partner with educators from all over the world and together we can address these questions.

I think the most exciting thing about the products I purchased was that the students go to do more than just do math. They got to experience math. I was able to provide countless experiences to my students so they were able to make connections they normally wouldn't in a classroom setting. Students made memories and were able to apply those math skills that allowed to them to not just know what to do but understand what to do.

I was able to reach some of my most disengaged students because of my access to they different projects. I had so many resources at my finger tips, that I could try and try and try until I find something that works. Fortunately, I found things that worked for nearly every student I taught. It was so powerful, I did professional development showcasing some of the concepts on having students to experience learning.

Thank you so much for your continued support of me and my students. It is because of you that may be students have a new outlook on learning.”

  • Extend Distance Learning All Over the World!

    Funded Aug 8, 2020

This has been one of the more challenging school years I have experienced in my almost 15 years of teaching. However, it has showed me more than any other year, why what I do is so important. This year I have had to engage students who were not in the room with me. So, I had to find ways to compete with all the other distractions in order to ensure my students had meaningful learning experiences. I can say that the donations have helped me to provide my students with every enjoyable learning experiences.

One of the activities I was able to purchase for my students was a murder mystery. They absolutely loved it. I had the music going to set the mood, I emailed invitations with the characters the day before, and students were excited. I had the highest attendance rate that day, then any other day this year. Another activity was the escape room. The students loved the idea of having to crack codes and solve puzzles to "unlock my gradebook". The students have been really engaged so the learning in the classroom is really getting better daily.

Currently, my students are getting ready to transition to hybrid school model. However, the engagement and organization skills they have obtained while virtually, will help them to prepare for the type of learning they will do in this new model. Students look forward to coming to class because they don't know what type of learning experience they will expect to have. I love that because it keeps them coming to class due to the anticipation growing daily. Thank you so much for your donations! We couldn't have made it this far without your help!”

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I am so grateful for generosity. I want to express my appreciation for your generosity in support of my STEM in the Real World. Your personal commitment was incredibly helpful and allowed us to reach our goal. Your assistance means so much to me but even more to my students. You have now become a partner in educating my students. With your contribution we have now moved forward into ensuring they are ready for the 21st century.

Mississippi is one of the states currently implementing the Common Core state standards. One of the pros of the common core is that it encourages the appropriate use of technology. However, in our school building we lack the technology to afford our students the opportunity to learn to use technology and to use it in effective manners. Students have little to no exposure to technology once they leave the school. Many of our students do not have computers at home or access to the Internet.

With the projector and its components we received, my students were able to work in centers and interact with math in ways that will stay with them for years to come. It was such a joy to watch my students become excited about math. I am very sure that my students have learned a lot more not just about mathematics but how to also use technology in the appropriate way. My students have become fluent and it makes me very proud. I know that I have set them on the right track to do well on the test.

I also know that my students will not only do well on the test but be well prepared for engaging in higher mathematics. They will be able to go into high school with experiences that are embedded in their long term memory and will allow them to make connections for years to come.

Thank you from all of us.”

With the computer I will be able to connect it to the SmartBoard that is currently not being used in the classroom to demonstrate different concepts. For example, instead of teaching about stocks and portfolios using pencil, paper, and books, we were able to participate in the STOCK MARKET GAME and have real meaningful conversations.

One way that I have striven to ensure my students are ready for the 21st century, is by giving my students an opportunity to use technology on a daily basis. Thank you for helping me do this.

With the Chromebook I was be able to connect it to the SmartBoard that was previously not being used in the classroom. I am now able to demonstrate different concepts. For example, instead of teaching transformations by looking at it in books, students were allowed to go to the board and experience rotating, dilating, and reflecting figures themselves. Students gained a deeper understanding of the concepts of what similar and congruence really meant.

Although we could not purchase computers for each child, we did take advantage of the SmartBoard on a daily basis. Students will got a chance to drag and drop, construct, and measure etc as expected on the test as a group. This allows the students to be more comfortable by at least seeing the types of items they will be expected to be familiar with; instead of going in blind.

I implemented a tool called "Plickers". I was able to project a problem on the board and students worked on the questions. Once students completed working on the problems the selected their answers. They were so excited to hold up their cards for me to scan. Once I scan the card with my phone, they could see if their answer was correct, and it just made the lessons so much more engaging and exciting.

It was such a joy to watch my students become excited about math. I am very sure that my students have learned a lot more not just about mathematics but how to also use technology in the appropriate way. My students have become fluent and it makes me very proud.
