  • Creatively Clean

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My SEL space is a room full of smiles, tears, fears, and most often giggles. Because all learning is based on play. We get messy and use the power of our creative energy to figure out how to fix, clean up, or get out of the messes we create.

I enjoy opportunities to teach hands on life skills to students so they can apply what we talk about to real world experiences.

The craft sets in this project will foster my students' creativities and the Meyers cleaning products, Meyers hand soap, Kleenex, and Swiffer wet jet refills and cloths will help keep our noses, hands, and learning space clean.

A tremendous amount of gratitude for your generous donations to keep our space creative and clean.”

    With gratitude,

  • Social, Emotional, Fresh, and Clean.

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

I want to thank you for generous donations of cleaning products to teach the students cleaning skills and the resources needed to continue to take an active role in keeping the SEL classroom clean.

Since the pandemic many of our students have become interested with cleaning. Cleaning products play an essential role in our daily lives at home, in our classrooms, and in our schools. They prevent the spread of infectious diseases and viruses by helping us to stay healthy.

Thank you for helping me get these supplies to continue to teach the students the skills and tools need to keep our SEL classroom clean.”

  • Time to Represent

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

It is my firm belief that all children should see themselves reflected in the resources they use to access school. I really appreciate the opportunity to provide such resources as story books, colorings books, crayons and markers that reflect the rich diversity of society.

When children see themselves reflected back when they are in school I believe it has a positive impact on their learning.

I also think that all children should see images that reflect the world we live in this helps decrease bias and improve the overall way that we as humans choose to interact with each other.

SO many thanks for helping me share these resources with the students.”

  • Yummy Sweets

    Funded Sep 19, 2022

The absolute best part of my job is sharing meals with my students. Having the opportunity to offer a variety of healthy and yummy snacks during student recess/lunch period is awesome fun. During the colder winter months many students self-select to remain indoors versus going out for recess. I try to provide an opportunity for students to interact with their peers, share a snack and play. I learn so much about my students likes, hopes, dreams, hear their wonderings and listen to their amazing imaginations during these times. Thank you for being a part of the magic.”

  • Arts and Smiles.

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

One of the best gifts I can give my students is arts and crafts. They love the opportunity to enter a clean space filled with all the items they need to create, talk, have fun and play.

My students are very creative little people. They each like very different resources to bring their dream to reality. You offering your generous financial support has made a significant difference in the type of and amount of art supplies the students have access. Your generosity makes it possible for the children to unleash their imaginations.”

  • Sharing Snacks

    Funded May 3, 2022

As a result of your kindness and generosity my students ended the school year snackfully happy. Thank your for seeing the value of sharing a snack and a smile with a child. What was created during our social emotional learning time truly helped students grow through play. During snack time the students learned to express themselves, take turns, problem solve, play and share. A wonderful consequence of being the room with snacks is that I get the benefit of meeting many children that I might not have had the gift of knowing.”

  • Playing Games

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

My students are very busy and active humans. I like to give them opportunities to move and have fun while learning. There are both physical and mental health benefits to students playing board games. Game playing induces laughter and reduces stress, boosting the immune system and lowering blood pressure. Board games help us escape from worries and focus on something else. They bring balance and help us relax. As a result of your help I am able to provide interactive board game play time for my students during our afterschool program. These games allow students the opportunity to improve awareness, consideration and respect: Through games, students learn and practice the impact their actions have on others. Students learn to truly listen to obtain information about others.”

  • Building Resilience

    Funded Mar 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. As a result of kind donation my students will be gifted opportunities to learn through play. STEM fosters that love of learning. Instilling that passion and drive to learn is at its most crucial stage during the elementary years. We are going to have so much fun with Lego, STEM and jewelry making kits that will allow my students to use their wonderful sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness to explore their creativity while learning and having fun. STEM is important because it teaches critical thinking skills and instills a passion for innovation. Beyond the benefit of learning science, technology, engineering, and math, STEM assists in the problem-solving and exploratory learning that fuel success across a variety of tasks and disciplines.”

  • Building Social Emotional Skills

    Funded Dec 2, 2021

As a child I loved building with lego. I have really enjoyed engaging students with LEGOs. We have used the LEGO to encourage students to be as adventurous as they want, allowing them to experiment, test out and build new ideas. Playing with LEGOs has some amazing benefits for the development of fine motor skills, promotes social interaction, turn-taking skills, sharing, collaborative problem-solving and the learning of concepts. I really enjoy providing my students opportunities to practice social emotional learning skills in various ways. LEGOs time continues to provide opportunities for my students to build social emotional competencies needed in life while having fun and being creative,”

  • Kidding With Yoga

    Funded Oct 22, 2021

Thank you tremendously for your generous donations. My little yogis are participating in the kidding around yoga program, of movement meditation, and mindfulness via our SEL enrichment program. My little yogis are learning the peace and power of a yoga practice. Via participation in the program my little yogis are gaining the skills necessary to navigate today's demanding academic environment. The students are learning and practicing methods to integrate yogic concepts throughout the school day as they pertain to Behavior, Stress Management, and Health Awareness, all while increasing student engagement in a positive environment. The yoga mats have given them a sense of pride and excitement. Prior to your gifts we were using beach towels for our practice now the children actually embrace the term yogi when I start each session.”

No matter what grade or age, developing a growth mindset is one of the most important tools we can learn. Life is about learning from our mistakes and learning how to solve problems. This project will provide a library of books and games to share with students and other classes that provide opportunities for conversation and classroom culture building. This project provides resources for developing and encouraging life long learning and growth mindsets. In order to learn about growth mindset, students need to read/listen to multiple examples in books, talk about growth/problems with their peers, and engage in games to make it joyfully come alive. Today, students see images of perfection everywhere and strive to not make mistakes, whether it be on tests, in relationships, or seeing "perfection" in the media. I want students to learn that mistakes happen and it is what we do we those mistakes that make the difference. This project can provide a starting point for our kids.
