When the resources arrived the students were beyond excited to see and use our coding critters. They could not contain their excitement and could not wait to use them. The first day we just explored with the critters in both the 3rd grade and pre-k classes. Everyone had such a blast. The second week my pre-k students started making bridges and transportation vehicles using the centers that were part of this project. We were so engaged that we forgot to take pictures.

Our 3rd graders had been given a problem they needed to solve. The problem was that our pre-k students really want to code but do not know how to read or write yet. So we had to create ways to teach them so that they would understand.

We have been working very hard learning to code! Our 3rd grade students are ready to teach our pre-k students how to code using the tools purchased from our donors choose project! We are so excited to become experts by teaching others how to code. The students have created game boards and challenge cards to go with their own game boards. They have also prepared a lesson using visuals to help our non-readers with coding. Next week we hope to meet with our pre-k students and start teaching them how to code using our student created lessons and resources.
