The rugs, pillows, floor desks, and yoga ball seat options will provide my 7th graders with a variety of places to sit. The goal is to build their stamina in both independent reading and writing. By being able to move out of their traditional desk spaces while being successful reading and writing students, they will learn to take ownership for their independence and success. I hope to help turn my students not just into survival readers, but life-long reading learners. An important aspect of that is to provide students with choice in their learning - like what books they read and where they can sit and work comfortably for extended periods of time.

About my class
