Clear Audio and Vocals
Funded Feb 27, 2025Thank you for your support and generosity. We appreciate you and cannot wait to celebrate our new Amp! We have been using an Amp that was purchased in 1990 and it roars anytime we run more than three sound cues at once.
This was a large purchase and you helped us to solve our problem!
We will be sending photos as well as listing our donors on social media and in our Playbill programs.”

Class Is Back in Session
Funded Aug 21, 2024The talented theatre students are geared up and ready to open their first production of the school year. Thank you for helping supply items that are necessary in our classroom. We use the mechanical pencils everyday in class and after school in our rehearsals. We write director notes in our scripts and often are altering them as we grow throughout the rehearsal process. The highlighters have helped all of our actors and crew highlight their lines to memorize. The four desk organizers help to keep everything handy for the students. They know where to go to get their supplies. The ID covers and lanyards are used by the theatre students everyday but we also provide replacements for students at the entry at the beginning of the day for students who may have left theirs at home.
Hygiene is extremely important in our class since students work closely with one another. The paper towels, tissues, and clean wipes have helped students stay healthy and clean during this flu season. The tennis balls are used in a large array of acting exercises that we learn that help students understand the give and take in scene work and projecting their voice.
The book lights make it so much easier in class for students to take notes and read scripts since stage lighting is only illuminated on stage. Thank you for your support of our classroom. We appreciate every dollar that went into this project!”

Funded Mar 19, 2024Thank you for the wonderful resources that made our Theatre Fair possible for our visiting audience members. Every year, the audience walks through a lobby of work that students have completed for the upcoming production. These lights, easel binders, paint markers, and rubber cement were the perfect tools to make our presentations look professional. Student created projects surrounding the social issues and themes of the production, a display about the production's playwright, a culture presentation of the 2007 climate and culture, a chronological display of the building of our set design, and a special project showing the research of substance abuse and suicide awareness.
The students are proud of their theatre program and even prouder when their families congratulate them on completing such professional level work.
We will be able to re-use these resources for future productions at Bonnabel.”

Refreshing Rehearals
Funded Feb 18, 2024The theatre students couldn't believe that we now have a fridge to store our food in for after-school and weekend rehearsals and performances.
Thank you for your generous donations to the Bruin Theatre students. They now have a mini fridge backstage where they can store their lunches and dinners. The theatre students stay afterschool til 6:30 sometimes 8pm and having a place to store food instead of ordering delivery is a huge advantage for my students. Thank you for donating not only the fridge but for the drinks to stay hydrated for the rehearsals and performances.”

Health and Wellness
Funded Jan 8, 2024Helping our future generations to grow and fostering their minds is the most important job I have. I cannot thank you enough for supporting our students while they receive their education. My students were so grateful to have healthy snack options for after school rehearsals, ethics meetings, and in-class rewards.
There are so many wonderful projects on DonorsChoose and I wanted to take this time to thank you for supporting our classroom. DonorsChoose has made a yearly impact on the Talent Theatre program at our school. The students feel safe and welcomed when they enter our theatre class.”

Funded Aug 15, 2023The Talent Theatre students use these donations everyday! There have been so many times that students walk up and ask for a spare deodorant, feminine products, pencils, and cough drops (especially during flu season). We were able to gift every student a bag that was donated by 4Imprint with our Theatre logo on it. Each bag included three mechanical pencils, a Skinnypop bag of popcorn, some cough drops, a chewy bar, a disposable toothbrush-comb-and toothpaste, and a lined notebook for students to take notes. Student reuse their bags and carry their items with them daily. Students feel included and safe in my classroom because of these small gestures throughout the school year. Students know if they need help or supplies, they can come to me to supply them with comfort and free of charge.
The ink for our printer has allowed us to make copies of every script we read aloud in class. This helps everyone feel included and also helps to build their library of reading material.
My students always clean up behind themselves and help the custodial staff when they are able. The garbage bags help us to clean up after messy projects that we are designing in the theatre.
We are getting ready to open our next production on December 1st and your donations helped to create a safe environment where students feel welcomed. Thank you for considering to help our classroom project. We still have a large supply of feminine products and deodorant to supply to our students throughout the school year.”

Funded Apr 17, 2023Thank you to all of the donors who made our production a success. Our students will continue to learn how to incorporate embroidery designs in their future costume pieces. This project was a big ask, but we were able to reach the finish line with the help of your donation. Each year, with the help of gracious donors like you, we are able to significantly expand our reach in the communities we serve. This year is no different, as we plan to start our new initiatives, which wouldn't be possible without your support. Thank you for supporting the arts and the artists behind the art.”

The Last Locker
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you for giving the last locker its rightful home. Students were jealous that some of them had a personal locker and others did not. I underestimated how many students truly wanted to have a space to put their belongings and lunch. Our school does not allow hallway lockers anymore and they were removed last summer. Thank you for coming to the rescue and funding our last locker. We use them every day and the students have even personalized them with name cards. It may not seem like a necessity, but for these students, it's the one place where they can store their phones and purses on campus without being worried that something will go missing.”

Funded Oct 13, 2022We were able to have a successful fall semester by preparing proposals for the biggest event on our campus, Homecoming. The theatre students were in charge of designing, budgeting, proposing, decorating, and facilitating the event in every aspect. They built and painted props, organized all materials, planned areas for students to take photographs, built backdrops, created their own string chandeliers, and learned how to run their own event. The students used all of the resources for their portfolio binder and to present to the principal.
The two lockers also allowed students to keep their personal belongings separate from the items that filled our classroom weeks before the event. Thank you for making our learning space comfortable and filled with the necessary tools that we needed to complete our projects.”

Funded Oct 7, 2022The Talent Theatre students started their first step to creating the negative molds of their face castings. We were able to utilize all of the supplies that we requested! Each group of students used a measuring bucket to hold water and dry scraps of plaster. Students prepared with clear wrap, ace bandages, and vaseline to have their faces covered with plaster. Each student cut down the plaster rolls into strips and learned how to apply layers of plaster to another classmate's face, top of the head, and neck. We placed all of the completed molds in a dehumidifier box so that they could dry out over the weekend. Students then sanded down their molds to get them ready for the pouring of the liquid plaster. Students placed masks supported by butcher paper in the cardboard boxes that our donations came in to support all of the facial features after we pour the liquid plaster into molds. We will complete that step this week and then seal all of the plaster molds with a special plastic coating that we had from a previous production. Students will then be able to create prosthetics, masks, and makeup designs on their face replicas after matching skin tones and painting their molds. This was an exciting week to see how each student's face molds would come out! The next step is going to be really cool!
Thank you for your generosity and for supporting this project that would have been impossible without your help.”
