  • A Class Worth Talking About!

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

I would first like to thank you for your gracious donations. Due to your generosity, my students and I will enjoy a vibrant learning environment that reflect our ultimate goal: preparing our students to be college bound. Your donations added a liveliness to my classroom that the students still marvel at til this very day. The chair socks that were donated keep my floors from being scuffed. As a result, you cannot tell how much traffic my class has because the floors are still so nice and shiny. I utilize the portable lamination machine regularly to create center activities for my students and to preserve student work. Also, my students and parents love the collegiate decor inside of my classroom. Parents now tell me that their students are making public declarations of what college they will attend in the future. This makes me very happy.

When my students first saw the packages, they were excited. I informed them that we got another package from Donors Choose and they just knew that they would love what came out of the box. The lamination machine was the first thing that I opened. They had never seen one before so I demonstrated how it worked. With the entire class crowded around me in a circle, we laminated "John's" flow chart. The students "ooooh'd and ahhhhh'd". When I opened the collegiate waste basket and tissue box, they really couldn't contain their excitement.

Words cannot express how grateful my students and I are. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lafontant

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

I am so delighted to see that this project has been fully funded. It is comforting to know that so many people value public education and physical fitness. The support of the DonorsChoose community is overwhelming and my students and I feel so blessed. Please note that we will actively utilize all of the equipment donated on daily basis. Your donation will go a long way! Thank you so much!!”

    With gratitude,

  • A Classroom That Meets a Student's Wildest Dreams!

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

When the materials donated to my classroom first arrived, I took it upon myself to explain to the student that there are people in this world that want to see them succeed. I shared the Donors Choose mission with them and explained to them why people have made monetary investments into their education. I told my students that our future sustainability depended on them and that they were well worth the investment.

When I opened up the boxes and displayed our donated gifts, the class ooooohhhh and ahhhhhh'd with excitement. Now, we have a kidney table where I can complete small group instruction and comfortable beanbag chairs for flexible seating. The students love coming to the class. Thank you so much for your investment in out youth!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lafontant

My class is composed of a dynamic group of 5th graders. We come in all colors, shapes, and ability levels and appreciate one another for our differences. My school is a Title 1 school so all of my students are on free or reduced lunch. Although my students don't come from an affluent background, they are rich in respect to love, tolerance, and happiness. My students have grown so much from the 1st day they walked into my room. They are eager to learn and teach me a little more about life than I ever thought I could learn from a yen year old! Should you decide to donate to my classroom, I want you to be aware of the impact you are making on the lives of children who have the potential to be great. With your contribution, these students will be able to take on the world and YOU will play a role in that!
