Listen Up!
Funded Apr 6, 2019Thank you so much for your donation. My students, especially those who need reading support, use the headphones to listen to audiobooks of the novels we read in class as well as their independent reading books. We use web sites such as Get Epic, Dreamscape, Read Theory, IXL, Spelling City and Read Works to support our reading program. These headphones are used on a daily basis so they take a beating. They are good quality and seem to be holding up well! I would be struggling to meet the needs of my students without headphones as it allows each reader to progress at his own pace. Now even the struggling readers love to read and feel independent!”

Rap It!
Funded Nov 2, 2018What a great time the students are having watching cool videos explaining reading strategies! The students can go to the Flocabulary site and complete a practice assignment that I have given them. This is a great tool for me as a teacher and a fun way for kids to practice their reading skills. I can easily check online to see who needs extra help and who has mastery of the skill.
The students love the rap videos as well as the fun practice games. They love to work on computers so this product has many positives. The students who have benefited the most are those who are prone to lose focus when practicing reading skills; The music, the games, the practice tests, and matching vocabulary keep the pace moving which keeps their attention.
Thank you so much for making this resource available to over 50 students this year. It's a fantastic resource!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Thomas”

Grab That Book!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for funding our grab the book project! It has made a tremendous impact on the visual stimuli for our classroom library. Because you helped us get a shelf for displaying books, kids are browsing and able to see attractive book covers. It is much more appealing than just seeing book stems. The students are now able to go right to a book that catches their eye.
Also, when I'm doing small groups the students are able to keep their materials organized with our new awesome bookshelf. It holds all of my reading teaching materials as well as the students individual reading supplies. I'd like to mention the giant magnets that are being used for displaying our reading targets, they have been incredibly helpful.
I just can't thank you enough for donating to our school and to my kids in 5th and 6th grade. Your generosity will never be forgotten as I look at my wonderfully organized reading room.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Ace American History!
Funded Mar 8, 2018My students are loving Ace American History. I am teaching the students how to take notes from an informational text. The author who wrote the notes for this text is such a great example. I make reference to her skills and how she used different colors to highlight key vocabulary, definitions and significant points. This has supported the students as they learn to annotate while reading for information.
Currently, in my 5th grade classes we are studying the Civil War. In the 6th grade, we are studying World War II and have been using the book everyday. One of my students just said to me, "I'm learning so much in your class." That made my day! I've had several students ask to take the book home to read it on their own!
I'm so thankful for your donation to help us get history textbooks. It has made our reading class much richer as we learn the reality behind the historical novels we read.”
