  • Junie B. Jones for the Win!

    Funded May 9, 2024

WOWIE WOW WOW!!!!! These books have been the most amazing addition to our classroom library. We have been reading the Junie B. Jones series after lunch to calm our bodies and minds down. The class has been begging to put the books in their book baggies to take home. Now they can! We made a special bin for the Junie B. Jones series you got us and the children are so excited to pick from it, that we had to limit the amount of Junie B. Jones books in their book baggies. It is so amazing seeing the children want to read such a high level book, it even encourages the children that didn't want to learn to read. Now they have a goal...if practice then I can get a Junie B. Jones book. This dream would have never been possible without your support and generosity. Thank you for being you and helping my students grow.”

    Ms. Goldstein-Delgado

  • Peek a Boo, I See You...BOOKS!

    Funded Nov 11, 2023

Thank you so much for making this amazing project come to life. These book baggies have been an essential part of our classroom routine and has helped keep the children so organized.

Since our curriculum has changed to help facilitate the Science of Reading, children have had to learn a new way to book shop. Having these new book baggies help us transition from picking books on an alphabet reading level, to choosing books using the 5 Finger Rule. I was able to personalize the book baggies with each students name and they received a card with the 5 Finger Rule. They were all so excited to get a "cool" book baggie. The smiles and excitement have been a great part of this project. I wish I could show you what an impact you had on my class. Thank you again for supporting my students learning and helping us grow.”

  • Let Me See Your Books!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

All I have to say is...THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING GIFT!!!! These book baggies couldn't have come at a better time for my 1st graders. We have been learning about being reading detectives and this was a gift from Mystery Reading School. I wish you could have been there to see their faces when they saw these brand new personalized book baggies on their desks.

These book baggies have been a game changer. Before this the children were using Ziploc bags to hold onto their books. Within at least 2 weeks, they would start braking and would need a new baggie. That was until this delivery came along and now the children never have to ask for a new Ziploc bag.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. We are very lucky to have you in our lives.”

  • Fun Fridays are Back in Action!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to help me bring Fun back into Fridays. Now that the vaccine mandates have been completely lifted for us, students can get back to "normal". The question becomes what is "normal"? With these items, I have been teaching my students how to share and use the supplies the correct way. Sharing is something these children have had a difficult time with since they are use to having their own art materials due to social distancing.

With a lot of hard work and dedication, students have been getting better and better at sharing and socializing. The students have been making strong sold friendships and enjoying Fridays. Thank you so much for helping us bring this back and helping my students learn in fun ways.”

  • The End Is Near!

    Funded May 5, 2022

I wish you could have been here to see my students faces when they got their end of the year gifts yesterday. They were ecstatic that they got a personalized tumblers stuffed with candy. They kept saying "This is the coolest gift ever!" I've never seen them smile so big. This couldn't have been possible without you and your generosity. Thank you so much for putting such big smiles on my students faces this school year. They have been through so much these past 2 year with the pandemic, I am truly grateful for your gratitude. I hope you enjoyed your summer.”

  • Non-Fiction to the Rescue!

    Funded May 4, 2022

These books have been a huge improvement to our Non-Fiction library. So many of my students were high readers and our classroom just didn't have books to facilitate their learning, until now! My students kept having to borrow books from the 2nd grade classroom which can sometimes be difficult. But now our problem has been solved thanks to you! The children absolutely loved when I opened the box and they got to see all these new Non-Fiction books. They asked me if they could read them right away! I was so excited to see their faces glow with books that were on their reading level. Thank you so much for helping us grow our non-fiction library as well as grow their minds of topics. These books have made a huge improvement in their stamina for reading! We are so lucky to have caring donors like you!”

This being my first year teaching 1st grade, I wasn't sure how any of this would work. I am so glad I took the jump and were able to receive these brand new book baggies thanks to you and your donations.

  • Diverse Books for Little Learners!

    Funded Aug 26, 2020

Thank you so much for these diverse books, they have been absolutely amazing. This school year I started off the year by reading a new diverse book to the kinders, whether it be in person or remote. We discussed how some of us could relate to the characters. As I was reading the book, Hair Love, it reminded me of when I was little and how my dad always tried to do my hair. He was never successful, but he still tried which is the most important thing. These books have been amazing, that I have continued to use them in my new 1st grade class.

Thank you for always being so kind and grateful to my classroom. I look forward to sharing my new chapter as a 1st grade teacher.”

  • Have You Gotten Your Teach on Today? Part 2

    Funded Dec 11, 2019

Unfortunately due to COVID I wasn't able to attend the Professional Development in 2020. But the great news is that my kindergarten class was able to get more supplies to help us in school during the Pandemic. Due to my schools numbers, I went from teaching in a classroom to teaching in the gym with my kindergartners. What a transition that was! Thanks to your donations, we were able to get more laptop desks to help us keep socially distant but also helped the children get up out of their seats. This was a HUGE help especially since kindergarteners have so much energy. I know this isn't want you donated for, but it these materials helped the school year go a lot more smoother. Thank you for always being supportive and kind, especially during these times. I hope you all stay safe.”

  • Smiling Our Way into 1st Grade!

    Funded May 5, 2021

First of all, thank you for all the support that you have given my kinders. These gifts were a huge surprise and the children absolutely loved them. They went through so much with the school year, I wanted to spoil them as much as possible because they deserve it plus so much more. My class this year was absolutely amazing and they went through so much from learning in a classroom 1-2 days a week to learning 5 days a week in a gym.

I'm so excited that I get to be their 1st grade teacher this year and I can tell you as a fact that these gifts are being using in 1st grade. The children I had brought their crayon boxes in into the first day and were so excited to show me that they are going to be using them this year.

Thank you again for your help in providing my kinders, now 1st graders, with these amazing gifts. We are very grateful for your help and kindness.”

Welcome to my DonorsChoose Page! I am a Kindergarten/English as a New Language teacher for the NYC public schools. Teaching kindergarten has been my dream job and teaching English as a New Language makes it even more special. Many of my kindergartners start school with limited English language skills and may not have the support at home to reinforce the skills learned in school. Having a happy, exciting and welcoming atmosphere in my classroom is very important. All of my kindergarteners come to school every day with big smiles on their faces and are always ready to learn. They are very supportive of each other and extremely caring. With your support, I know I can provide my kindergarteners with the best learning environment.
