Ignite the Spark: Hands-On Science Explorations for Fearless Leaners!
Funded Oct 3, 2024I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your support of our project. Thanks to your generosity, our science lab has been transformed into a dynamic and engaging learning space where students can actively explore the wonders of science.
Your contributions have provided our inquisitive and fearless young scientists with essential hands-on materials that make learning both exciting and meaningful. With drums, students can now investigate sound waves and vibrations, experiencing first hand how sound travels. The energy sticks and glow sticks have brought our energy units to life, helping students visualize energy transfer and chemical reactions in ways that traditional lessons simply cannot.
Furthermore, the addition of masking tape and craft sticks has empowered students to engineer, design, and build structures, encouraging problem-solving and creativity. The digital scales have enhanced their understanding of measurement and precision, enabling them to grasp key concepts related to mass and balance in physical science.
These materials have enabled students to see themselves as real scientists-exploring, questioning, and experimenting with confidence. Donors have ignited a passion for discovery that will stay with them for years to come. Their enthusiasm for science is more vibrant than ever, and it is all because of donors' kindness and belief in the power of education.
Thank you for being a part of their learning journey. Your support has not only provided materials but has also inspired a love for science that will shape their futures.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Aponte
Restocking the Science Lab
Funded Dec 31, 2021I would like to take this moment to thank you for your generous donation to our lab. Our older students used the material mainly in their science journals. Having a variety of materials gave students options on how they wanted to record their scientific findings; this empowers them to take ownership of their learning. I was really exciting to see how everyone processes information in different ways. Our younger students mainly used the crayons and glue. Before our project was funded we had limited supplies to share with a large number of students. This made it hard for them to fully express what they were learning because they didn't have the colors they needed or had to wait for another student to use it before they could. The class set made it possible for every student to have their own set of crayons to use when they needed them without running out of time.
When the young scientist got the crayons and glue that were just like "YES!" They were so excited to have more than 8 crayons to share with 3 other people. They were so excited I had to shorten my lesson so they had more to use the materials. The older scientists had so much fun testing different materials in their journals. The best was when they broke up into two teams, team tape and team glue, referring to the material the preferred to use for journal entries. There were debates as to which one was better and why. We had so much fun.
As we wind down for the year. It is nice to know that we will be able to start the year with the tools that students need. The best part is because it was a gift for them they feel like they are special so they have made sure to take care of them and learn how to use them. It is amazing how much having the tools you need helps with learning. Thank you!”

5th Grade Scienctists
Funded Nov 28, 2017I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your generous donations. With your donations we were able to provide materials to the whole 5th grade at our school. The students used all of the materials to make bright and creative science fair presentation. The students were very excited when they saw the variety of materials they had to choose from to decorate their boards.
The Science Fair was a huge success. The families and the school community were impressed by all of the amazing work the fifth graders did. We are now looking forward to the next Science Fair. This fair includes all of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at our school. One project from each grade will be chosen to represent our school at the district Science Expo.
Thank you for all you do for our students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Aponte
Full STEAM Ahead!
Funded Sep 13, 2016My students used the materials for several projects. The 1st graders used the materials to create animal habitats, 3rd graders used the materials to make ice cream, and the 4th grade students used the materials to create food webs and food chains. The students were so excited to see all of the materials that were available to them and helped ignited their creativity. With the materials they felt that they were not limited to what they can do.
This year I am planning on starting a maker space and expand the Girl's Science Club. The mission of the club is to make science experiences accessible to girls who would not have those experiences.”

Science Lab Filled to Capacity
Funded Oct 30, 2015Dear Donor's ,
Thanks to your generous donations we were able to get additional seating for our science lab. I cannot tell you how much it meant to students to have this new seating. Our science lab only had seating for 24 students. Unfortunately some classes than 24; some classes had as many as 35 students! Before the stools, we had to hunt for extra folding chairs to accommodate everyone. The chairs were big and awkward. They were hard to carry, move, open, and close. The chairs were large and didn't fit under the tables well. Students who sat there were often far from the materials. Plus, since the chairs were so large it was hard to move around. It was not fun.
Now, we don't have any of those problems. Students love the stools. They are all fighting to sit in them. The stools make it easier for students to stand when they want to, they can move them around the room easily, and they take up no space. They are great! I would love to have all of the seats in the lab be stools.
I didn't think that something as small as a stool would make a difference in the feel of a room, but it has. With these stool all students feel included, and they are able to work freely without any restrictions. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Aponte
