• Send Dream Library! Where Kids Can Cozy Up with Books!

  Kids just returned this morning from spring break and I was extra excited to welcome them back to our classroom. I spent yesterday afternoon setting up our brand new, beautiful little library. On the way into our classroom I told kids, "There's something new!" It was so fun to see kids gasp and jump up and down. One kid said, "It's so beautiful."

  The gorgeous library set up you sent us has really energized our students and I know it will welcome young readers for years to come. Thank you for making a difference!”

  WOW! Thank you all so much for the love you send our way. Your supplies and books arrived very quickly and have already been put to good use. Student's just returned from spring break today and it was amazing to welcome them back with a rejuvenated, joyful library. The plants you sent us really cozied up the room and your books were much sought after during reading time.

• Send Art Supplies! Help Kids Create, Explore, and Learn!

  Thank you so much for the amazing art supplies you sent to our students. We put them to use within hours of opening up your package. Kids were learning about the "AR" sound. So they pretended they had little AR-cars and would "shine their headlights" on words that had AR. This meant we cracked open your markers and words like "market" and "tart" got highlighted yellow. The kids thought it was so much fun, especially one little boy. Reading is coming pretty slowly for him, but he LOVES cars and trucks. Thanks to your art supplies, he was so eager to read!”

• Lifelong Love of Reading! Give Kids a Cozy Library, Books!

  I just wants to write you all a note to express my gratitude and tell you a bit about how the books you sent us were used (and loved!) by our students. One of the most loved books was the empty pot. It's a fable about an empire who looks for the next ruler by having them grow seeds. It was so perfect because we just started stuffing the life cycle of plants. Your book inspired us to try to sprout our own Lima bean seeds. Now we have ziploc bags with seeds taped to our window so we can observe the sprouts and roots.”

• Help! Winter Emergency! Shivering Kids Need Hats and Gloves!

  You really saved the day! This week has been absolutely FREEZING. I was SO thankful to have all the gloves and hats and cozy items you sent our way. On Tuesday, I grabbed the box you sent us and headed down to the cafeteria. I went around to the tables and asked if kids needed hats and gloves. It was so fun to let kids pick out a brand new winter hat in their favorite colors. I remember one girl who looked so cute and cozy in the bright yellow hat and gloves you sent us. Thanks to you I was able to get hats and gloves to nearly every kid in first, second, and third grade!

• Send The Love of Reading to Excited Kids! Give Books!

  Thank you so much for sending the most amazing books to my students. They LOVED reading your books so much it's hard to say which book was the class favorite. One book they loved was Ruby's Wish. It's about a little girl growing up in old China and at they end you realize the little girl is the author's grandmother. It was so fun to see the kids react to that twist at the end. They also really loved Rickshaw Girl, especially the part when the main character crashed her fathers rickshaw. They could really relate to accidently breaking something important. Thanks for sending beautiful stories from all around the world right to our little classroom.”

• Books To The Children! Get Kids Excited About Reading!

  WOW! The books you sent us were a HUGE hit! They LOVED seeing the boxes be delivered to our classroom. One of the favorites were the books from a chapter book series called The Carver Chronicles. One boy was helping me with something at our classroom table when he saw that book. He paused and asked if he could see "that skateboard book." Just seeing a book, with a kid that looked like him and riding a skateboard just like him was enough to get him hooked on a series of chapter books. Thank you for making a difference!”

  Thank you SO much for the wonderful books you sent to the eager readers in my class. I set out your books in our classroom library right away. I didn't even get a chance to tell the kids that the new books you sent us were already here when a boy in class interrupted me. He said, "Wait what? Is this really Lebanon James?" He was so excited to see that his basketball hero had written a children's book AND that he could read it right away. It's these moments when kids discover the joy of reading. They find out that reading is about learning about the things that YOU care about. Thank you!”

• Help! WINTER EMERGENCY! Freezing Kids Need Hats and Gloves!

  You all totally saved the day! Your hats and gloves came in just in time. We've had a clod snap here in Denver, but thankfully we had your cozy gloves and hats to give the kids. I was passing out your gloves and noticed a new student. It turns out he had just moved to Colorado from South America and it was his first day at our school. Thanks to you I was able to hook him up with gloves and a hat and he got to enjoy his first ever snowy recess without shivering. I wish you could have seen him playing in the snow for the first time.”

• Send Kids the JOY of ART! Give a Mini Art-Studio!

  You have made our classroom such a joyful place already. We have put so many of your art supplies to work already. Kids have been drawing and making posters. The most fun kids had was creating our very own deep sea fashion show. We read a book about all the adaptations that animals have in order to live in the deep sea. Each kid chose an animal from the book and created their own outfit and sign. Then they walked (or swam!) down the runway and explained why they look the way they do.

  It was SO much fun and it was all thanks to you!”
