  • Turn Kids Into Readers and Writers! Send Books, Pencils, More!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you SO much for sending our classroom such amazing school supplies. You could not have sent them at a better time. By the last month of school, we were running out of pretty much everything. Our school district had bounced between virtual and in-person so many times and every kids went back to virtual learning, I sent home a bag of school supplies with the kids. They needed the supplies, but it also meant that our classroom cupboards were pretty bare by the end of the year. Thanks to you, we had everything we needed for the end of the year, with a little left over and ready for next year's new class of kids!”

  • Helping Kids Become Writers for REAL! Send Notebooks, Pencils, and MORE!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you so much for sending such an amazing box of supplies to our classroom. Your supplies came in before the end of the school year, so kids already got to use the paper, books, and markers you sent us. It really helped, because by the end of the school year we were out of almost everything! Thanks to you we were able to do some fun lessons that mixed art and math. Kids were able to draw out their answers and mix in a little creativity in with their addition and subtraction practice.

The great news is, so much of what you sent us is ready and waiting for a new classroom full of kids to enjoy as soon as the new school year starts.”

  • Let's Make Math More Fun! Send Kids Hands-on Tools, Games!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you SO much for supporting my students and sending such amazing math tools and games to our classroom. Growing up, I always thought math was boring because we always had do worksheet after worksheet. As a teacher, I know I want something different for my students. I know math can be so much fun. Now, thanks to you, students can "do" math and not just memorize the steps. They loved the write-on-wipe-off number mats you sent us. They were able to draw their math problems and jump up and down multiples of ten. This is building such strong number sense that will help them later in their academic career. Thank you for bring some joy into our math lessons!”

  • Send Kids What They Want Most: Books! Books! Books!

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you so much for sending my students such amazing and engaging books. The box of books you send us came right before the last day of school, so I can't wait to add them to our classroom library. I'm so excited to have brand new books to kick of a new school year. I'm most excited to share the books about animals. Second grade students are always so interested in nature and the animal kingdom. They have so much curiosity about the natural world. Now, thanks to you, my students can explore those curiosities and develop a love of reading at the same time.”

  • Kids Ready to MAKE MATH FUN! Send Hands-on Tools, Games!

    Funded Apr 2, 2021

Thank you SO much for sending some joyful energy into our math lessons. In 2nd grade we were learning a ton about place value (100s, 10s, 1s). It takes a lot of practice for kids to understand that 100 has 10 tens. To be honest, it is a confusing concept! But, your math tools really helped. The kids' favorite was a set of chips that have color-coded 100s, 10s and 1s. It was amazing to see kids minds really connect to the math concepts. By having the physical objects to build and move around, they could build a number like 324 by grabbing 100, 100, 100, 10, 10, 1,1,1,1. I saw them really understand how numbers and built and organized and that helped them learn how to add and subtract big numbers much more quickly.”

  • Make Math More Fun! Send Hands-on Tools, Games to Kids!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you SO much for sending such fun math tools and games to my class. The big hit was definitely the giant hundreds chart. It's basically a 5 foot chart with all the numbers 1-100. It has really helped kids because mostly kids have to stay at their desks due to COVID restrictions. Thanks to your giant chart every kid can see it and use it no matter where they were sitting. We started playing a super simple game with the chart. I just added a post-it note to the chart. Every time a student completed a math assignment or test they got to move the post-it one space. When we got to 100 the class got extra recess. it was a BIG hit. I've never seen kids complete their work so quickly! I brought in a a little extra joy to your lessons. Thank you!”

  • Get Kids Creating! Send Art Supplies!

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Thank you for sending our class such amazing gifts. The boxes just kept coming in from the office. It was Christmas every day! We were in big need of pencils and yours arrived just in time. The kids loved the paper and markers you sent us. I thought I would add a little art into our math lessons, so instead of boring worksheets I made each kid a math sketch book. We practiced solving word problems in our sketch book and then added pictures and illustrations too. It added so much joy and creativity to our lessons. Thank you for sending so much love to my students during this wild year!”

  • Keep the Arts Alive! Send Art Supplies to Eager Kids!

    Funded Feb 21, 2021

Thank you so much for sending a LOVE BOMB full of art supplies to my classroom. The kids have loved everything so much. A favorite lesson was an art/math mash up I put together. I joked with the kids that the copier was broken and the only thing we had to do our math on was the rainbow scratch off notepads you sent up. They LOVED it! We were just learning how to add 2 digit numbers and they got to scratch off the number and practice "carrying the one." It was such a fun surprise for them. With all the craziness this year, it was great to see the kids giggling and laughing ... even while they were practicing addition. You sent so much joy to our classroom and made a huge difference.”

  • Science For All! Send Kids A Huge Box of Experiments!

    Funded Mar 24, 2021

Thank you SO much for sending my class such amazing experience. The kids have LOVED reading the experiment books you sent us and trying them out. Yesterday we started a new experiment with seeds. They each got to plant a pumpkin seed and are keeping track of the progress in their very own plant scientist journal.

Last week we studied the different states of matter. So, next up we are going to do the poprocks experiment that you sent us. Kids are going to see how the solid poprocks release gas and fill up a balloon. Reading a book about the states of matter is great, learning about the states of matter with your eyes, ears, and hands is SO much better. Thank you for bringing joy and wonder into our classroom.”

  • Spark a LOVE of Reading! Send Books and More!

    Funded Feb 23, 2021

Thank you SO much for sending our class such wonderful books! We read so many of them as a class already. One of your books was a big fan favorite. It was called Awesomely Emma, about a girl who uses a wheelchair because she does not have full legs and arms. That story opened up so many great conversations about disabilities and inclusion. I remember one girl shared with the class about a family member who had a similar disability. It was so powerful for the other kids to hear her connection to the book. Thank you for opening up my students minds and hearts... through the power of books!”

Most of my students (90%) live below the poverty line. This makes the job of a school even more important. The students we teach are living in poverty, but that's just where they are starting. They have big dreams, but they need to work hard now. Help them reach for those dreams!
