My students are predominately Hispanic, many of them first-generation Americans. Due to the poverty many of them face, their parents are not very involved in their lives, schooling especially, and many of the students are forced to have jobs to help support their families. Since the school is part of the International Baccalaureate program, the students are driven and want to learn; however, the school generally doesn't have ample materials for the students to use in their learning.
