  • Curriculum for Our Creative Minds!

    Funded Sep 15, 2020

I want to start by saying thank you so much for donating to our classroom project. This project was such an important project because it provided us the curriculum we need in order to be successful during our distance learning.

I was able to purchase an amazing Boom card bundle, and I also purchased a small group bundle. I have been able to use both of these resources during distance learning. The students absolutely love the programs. Every time I pull up a Boom card they always tell me how much they enjoy the games.

We will be coming back on campus starting March 1st. I will be able to use the resources during our face to face instruction. I am especially excited about the push light segmenting activities. Thanks again for supporting our classroom! You are amazing.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nigro

  • Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

    Funded May 28, 2020

I want to start by saying thank you so much for your generosity. The kindness that is in your hearts proves our world is still full of wonderful people like yourself. The resources we received in the Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder project have been getting a lot of use. We use the chart paper a lot for our writing segment. The circular lighted tripod helps the kiddos be able to see me when I am teaching.

The students were excited about the pop and add game because it had a really cute dog and bone shaped manipulatives. I used this game a lot at the end of the year. For the beginning of this year, I am only rolling one die and from their we are counting the bones to match the number on the die.

This pandemic has really changed how I deliver instruction. Currently we are engaging in distance education. We hope once it is safe we can come together and meet face to face in the classroom. For right now we will be safe and do virtual learning.

Thanks again for your kindness! It is much appreciated :)”

  • The Giving Closet 2.0

    Funded Apr 16, 2020

I wanted to start by saying thank you so much for donating towards my giving closet project. This project means a lot to me because I want to be sure that I am helping my students in every way.

The items I received were wonderful additions to my closet. The materials came in handy, especially because people were and still are struggling with this pandemic. I was able to help multiple families, and I am continuing to do so now.

As long as I have generous donors like yourself I will be able to continue running this giving closet. Helping people in their time of need is such a wonderful feeling and it will help better the world we live in. Thanks again for your generosity :)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nigro

  • Safe, Healthy, and Happy in Our Classroom!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

I can't thank you enough for showing love to our classroom. Your generous donation has made so many students on our class, and our school very happy. The items we received have helped hungry students stay satiated, and the cleaning products have helped keep the cold and flu far away.

My students were thrilled when they saw my classroom closet full of wonderful snacks. They know if they feel hungry they can grab an item from the closet discreetly and get on with their day.

Currently, in our classroom we are studying the importance of being kind, and how we can help others. The lessons I I have taught have really helped my students understand more in depth the importance of helping others. They know that kindness is contagious! Thanks again for your support. It means the world to us!”

  • ABCs and 123s part 2

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your donation towards our ABC and 123 project. The Resources we received are amazing. The students love the sight word sentence game. It has boosted their confidence in reading.

When I first introduced all the wonderful things the kiddos were ecstatic, especially over the fire truck. We use the fire truck to find sight words, letters, and numbers. We went through each toy, and game and learned how to properly use the items so that way I can share the resources with my future students as well.

At this time my students are learning about Abraham Lincoln. We are discussing the major impact he had on ending slavery, and also how we can fight for what's right.

Thanks again for taking your time and resources to donate to our classroom. It's because of you we get to learn in fun and unique ways! God bless!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nigro

  • Full STEAM Ahead!

    Funded May 13, 2019

Our Full STEAM Ahead project has been a hit! STEAM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Music. STEAM is very important because the five disciplines are used in everyday activities. They promote problem solving, and creative and analytical thinking. My class is using the wonderful resources during STEAM learning stations. Watching the students engage in discourse to problem solve is amazing. It's also pretty amazing to see how a 5 year can solve an intricate problem.

When I first introduced the materials the students couldn't wait to dive in. We introduced a new item every day during circle time. The students had a chance to touch it and and play with it. I wanted to make sure the students knew how to properly use the item. That ensures the student does not misuse the resource.

The class is currently using the Legos to build structures during STEAM stations. After the student builds their structure, they draw and write about it in their journal. The stories they dictate are unique, funny, and interesting.

Thank you for donating to our project! We appreciate everything you do.”

  • Teach Me About Money, Honey!

    Funded May 27, 2019

We are well in to the new school year, and I wanted to give you an update on how the "Teach Me About Money, Honey" project is going. Introducing my students to financial literacy is very important to me because they will be able to learn how to manage money in all ways possible. When I first introduced the materials they were pretty excited. They love the puzzles, the activity tins, and the play-doh. All the items in this project are being utilized in morning meeting, as well as math stations.

A class favorite is the bug toss game. This activity allows you to toss a magnetic bug onto a number. The students have to say that number. To extend this activity, we count our bug manipulatives to match the number! It's a lot of fun.

As we move further into financial literacy, we will be diving deeper in to how money works. I will be setting up a grocery store, and the students will come to me during small group to participate in the grocery store activity. I want the students to understand how to use money to purchase items. My students learn best through activities that engaging, fun, and most importantly academically rich.

Thank you again for you generosity! It means the world to us.”

  • Help us Learn our ABCs and 123s

    Funded Jan 20, 2019

Let me start by saying thank you so much for your generosity! It is so refreshing to have so many people that are eager to support public education. The resources we were gifted have been such a blessing because it is helping my students learn the skills they need in a developmentally appropriate way! We use our resources during small group, as well as centers.

When we first got the materials the students were very excited. They saw all the boxes, and couldn't wait to open them! When we started going through them there were screams of excitement which told me they couldn't wait to start using them!

Right now in our class we are studying butterflies. We are learning about the butterfly life cycle, and also interesting facts about them. We learned that a caterpillar takes 14 days to turn in to a chrysalis. We are actually raising painted lady butterflies! We can't wait until they change.

Thank you again for your contribution. We feel very blessed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nigro

  • Safe, Healthy, and Happy in our Room!

    Funded Jan 23, 2019

Let me start by saying thank you so much for your generosity and taking the time to ensure my students have the resources they need in order to stay safe healthy and happy in our room. The resources that we received came in handy because it helped keep our room neat and tidy, and the snacks were very helpful too. Having the snacks gave us the energy we needed so we could continue learning.

The students were so excited when the boxes arrived! It was like Christmas. It was actually quite comical because the PTO brought box after box. It looked like we were becoming Amazon's warehouse.

Because you were so generous I would like to give you a peek inside of our classroom. We are currently studying the lifecycle of plants. My students are growing Lima beans. They are growing the lima beans in clear cups so that way they can see the whole life cycle taking place. Thanks again for your generosity. You make our classroom a better place.”

  • Research is Creating New Knowledge in Mrs. N’s Room!

    Funded Apr 30, 2018

Thank you so much for taking my students classroom experience to the next level! We are loving the new chrome books! This technology is allowing us to complete our ST Math program, and research about cool new topics that we are learning about.

The students love going to the chrome book station because they get to log on to ST Math. The chrome books are not heavy at all. They carry the chrome books to a spot they are most comfortable in. They also like that they can access educational sites such as ABC Mouse. The chrome books are so helpful because we do not have desktop computers.

This technology is such a blessing to my students. Many of them come from a home that does not have access to technology. Having chrome books in my class will create new opportunities for my students. Thank you for giving them this opportunity. We are so blessed to have classroom angels like yourself! Much love to you.”
