  • Stand and Learn

    Funded Mar 27, 2013

A very heartfelt thanks for your generous funding of my standing desk project. I have longed believe that the correct tools and resources can help any student learn in school. Over the years, I've noticed some students can't function in the classroom when sitting in a chair all day. Along came the truly clever standing desk and our problems were solved! Thanks to your generosity, my students can now stand while learning! The only problem is everyone wants one, including this teacher! They not only provide flexible seating options, but research has shown they are better for our health. No more crunched up bodies sitting in hard plastic chairs. Students can stand, sit on the stool, swing their feet; all with no disruptions or noise! Everyone is happy and learning in our classroom! I am so appreciative of your support. Especially with such an expensive item, one that I could never afford to purchase for my class! Your donations have truly had a positive impact on the students in my room, while also showing other teachers there are alternative ways to help our students learn! Thank you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weimer

  • Tables for Technology

    Funded May 27, 2012

Thank you for your kind donation of technology tables for my classroom! We desperately needed to remove our computers from the floor and organize our technology to make it more user-friendly. These tables are shaped to maximize space in the classroom while giving each student enough room to work efficiently. In addition, we no longer have to worry about losing valuable equipment when our room gets flooded during the rainy season.

Thanks to your continued generosity, my students have received many valuable resources that help them learn and function in the classroom. This is so important, as they have special needs and require additional materials to help them learn. We are so appreciative of your wonderful support. Thank you again for helping our class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weimer

  • iPads, Apps, and Autism

    Funded Jul 18, 2012

WOW! I am so excited to get these iPads for my class! Thank you so very much for donating this wonderful technology to my classroom. We are now able to do so much more during small group instruction and independent work time. My students love choosing from many educational apps. The variety is endless and there is always something that supports what they are learning in groups.

Your generosity has provided much needed current technology for my students. They are learning daily how to access intervention programs and work independently. This gives me time to reteach important skills to small groups efficiently without interruptions. My students and I thank you for your thoughtful and generous contributions. You have made a significant impact on their learning. Thank you again!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weimer

  • With Technology...Seeing is Believing

    Funded May 22, 2012

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the LCD projector. Because of your generosity, my students can now see clearly during instructional time. They also get to see other students' writing while practicing editing and revising skills. The projector allows me to utilize other technology, such as my Mimio interactive board and student response units. My class is so excited to use these wonderful technology resources!

We are so appreciative of your kind donation. This projector is used daily in the classroom to enhance student participation and group interactions. I teach students with special needs who are visual learners. They now have greater access to the core curriculum, which helps them learn and retain new concepts. Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Sensational Centers

    Funded Mar 25, 2012

Thank you kind donors for the multitude of center materials I received with the funding of my project. My students have so many writing center choices during language arts groups. Several of them encourage the development of independent learning skills. I can assign them to an engaging center, while teaching a small group at the same time. My students love the hot dots and are seen quizzing each other on core standards during independent work time. Vocabulary work is more interesting using the 8 different games to teach meaning in context.

All of these resources are invaluable in my room. My students with special needs learn so much more when given hands-on activities that engage them in active learning. They especially enjoy using the stamp and write materials where they can stamp a picture, then write about it. Thank you again for supporting my class with your generous donations. ”

  • Building Fluency With Read-alongs

    Funded Apr 2, 2012

I'd like to thank you for your generous donations to my read aloud project. My students are excited with the books and CDs and use them daily during independent work time. I am overjoyed to watch them relaxing on the carpet and sharing a story with their peers. They are interested in reading the grade level stories and frequently choose the read alouds over other activities in the room. It is wonderful to see them so actively engaged in reading!

Our class is delighted with the literacy materials you have so kindly donated to us. We are appreciative of your generosity and will use these read alouds for years to come. Thank you for bringing the love of reading to my class!”

  • Plentiful Pianos

    Funded Feb 25, 2012

How can I express my gratitude for such a generous donation from so many? It has been my dream for many years to provide music instruction for all students at my school. It seemed like such an insurmountable project because of all the multiple resources needed. I can't believe this enormous project was funded and so quickly! I'm still in shock and overwhelmed by your generosity and support of music. With budget cuts continuing to decimate music programs, it was my intent to keep music alive in our school and give students the opportunity to experience the joy of music! You all have greatly impacted students' learning in such a positive way for years to come. We were so excited to see the truck pull up with our keyboards. While, we are still setting up the music room, my students have already begun enthusiastically playing our keyboards! We are excited by the prospect of having our room up and running for all students by the beginning of the year!

I am still in awe of the generosity of so many. I need to especially thank 37 people for their generosity in funding most of this enormous project. You inspire all of us teachers to continue fighting to provide music instruction for our students and find creative ways to obtain the necessary resources. Because of your amazingly generous donations, my students have had musical instruction in bells, drums, recorders, and now pianos! I am humbled by your ability to impact so many! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Know that I will care for and treasure these gifts of music throughout my teaching career. ”

  • In a Bind for Supplies!

    Funded Mar 5, 2012

Thank you for your generous donations to my writing project. My students are already benefiting from your generosity and use the writing center every day. The center is now where all students can access the writing materials, while keeping them neat and organized. The stamp pads are used to help students create visual stories before writing about them. I requested lots of Velcro to use for visual charts and organizers. My students are visual learners and especially appreciate visual aids.

I use white boards in my class to give students a break from pencil and paper activities. We are always running out of dry erase markers. Now every student can have a marker to use during language arts. The book binding machine and plastic binders are wonderful! Our book making is limited by the location of the school machine and the number of plastic binders available. We can bind books for all students with our own machine! Thank you for your generous support of our class and their writing needs. We appreciate all that you do for others! ”

    With gratitude,

  • Interactive Technology for Exceptional Learners!

    Funded Mar 29, 2012

I can't express enough my appreciation in receiving these wonderful technology resources for my students with special needs! They are all visual learners and benefit greatly when they can "see" what they are learning. I am now able to take lessons from my laptop and present them to the entire class on the whiteboard. In addition, my students can now interactively learn and practice new concepts in all subject areas. This allows them to actively participate and creates opportunities for movement away from their seat.

The Mimio Vote is a wonderful tool for both students and me. When reviewing information, I can immediately tell who understands the concept and who needs additional assistance. My students love responding to quizzes with these hand-held devices. The document camera is used daily in my classroom to help students evaluate their peers' work in addition to tracking information during directed lessons.

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my class and for bringing my students into the 21st century with technology. You have positively impacted their lives and any future students in my class. I am grateful for your support! Thank you again for these wonderful resources!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weimer

I teach 3 and 4 year old children with special needs in a self-contained classroom. They are eager to explore their environment, while learning about the world they live in. This is their first experience in a school setting and I want to provide developmentally appropriate resources that will engage them in play.
