Learning Through Active Play
Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you for the hands-on sensory materials, support chair, and light cube. The floor chair with a back has been a blessing for my students who require additional back and trunk support during circle time activities. The light cube with translucent materials has been a huge hit with my class. They love exploring with light and the x-rays are amazing! We have learned so much! I think the sand and water tables and sensory materials are so valuable in helping my students regulate and receive the tactile experiences they seek. We use the sensory materials daily. The ABC bubbles and picture magnets have challenged my students who are moving to kindergarten next year. They are learning and exploring key concepts of letter sounds, while matching pictures to letters. It is helping them develop those crucial basic skills for next year. My class and I are greatly appreciative of your generosity in funding our project. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my students with special needs succeed in school.”

Funded Aug 25, 2014Thank you for your generosity in funding my sensory project! My students love the Squoosh chair and its rocking motion. This chair has already calmed many young bodies during circle time and active play. It is a favorite sensory tool in my classroom. The Spacewalk is a great cushion to jump, fall, and roll on to receive sensory input. We also fold it to provide extra sensory support. The pea pod provides gentle pressure to our students, while allowing them to rock themselves for vestibular input. It is also being used in circle time to allow for extra seating choices. All of these sensory tools have greatly benefited my students. We now have kids that can sit for longer periods of time, while receiving the sensory support they need. Thank you for your support. We are truly grateful!”

Funded May 26, 2014Thank you for generously donating to my magnetic board project. In preschool, we are exploring basic math and literacy concepts and playing to learn. My students love the magnetic boards and we use them in our centers at least twice a week. Not only are they developing number, color, shape, and letter concepts, but strengthening fine motor skills. As my class consists of students with multiple disabilities, it is important for me to provide activities that practice more than one skill.
Your kind support has provided my class with magnetic boards that are engaging and fun. My students are challenged by moving pieces with a magnetic wand and placing them in the correct section. They are observed counting the bubble gum balls on the number board. The magnetic picture boards allow them to create pictures using different colors. They can also create a picture using a model. Many of my students are learning patterning skills from these boards. Thank you again for choosing my class to support. We are very grateful and appreciative.”

Pre-K Manipulatives Part 2
Funded Mar 2, 2014Thank you for donating these valuable resources to my Pre-K students! The variety of thematic counters are used in many activities. My students use them to count, categorize, and classify by size and color. They are learning many basic math concepts using these manipulatives. The tweezers are used to develop fine motor skills. I love the ball sorting games! There are so many ways to use these resources! I think my students like the marble run the best, because they can build it many ways and watch the marbles go through their structure. They are also learning how to work cooperatively and problem solve to build a working structure. Thank you again for supporting my students with your generous donations!”

Funded Jan 11, 2014We love to work, play, and discover on the floor! Our Pre-K rugs are comfortable, clean, colorful, and inviting. They have brightened up the room tremendously! My students love to sit on them and read books. The circle time rug is large enough for multiple classes to meet for music. It also reinforces color and shape skills. Your generous donations have provided a place for my students to learn that is clean and comfortable. We are very appreciative of your support! Thank you very much for giving my class these beautiful rugs. We love them!”

Funded Feb 9, 2014Thank you for supporting my students and providing them with these wonderful manipulatives! The building bricks are durable and engaging. My students play with them every day, building walls and houses. With these bricks, they have learned to play cooperatively, while having a lot of fun! The set is enough for the entire class to play with at the same time. My students love to build something and then knock it down. The peg boards are colorful and provide opportunities to develop fine motor skills. Thank you for your generous donations to this project! I am truly grateful for your support!”

Creative Pre-K
Funded Feb 5, 2014Wow! My students and I are having so much fun with all of the art supplies, thanks to your generous donations! We create art every day as part of our thematic and sensory exploration time. My students have used the people sponge stamps to make self-portraits. They love to paint and use the various sponge materials to explore different mediums. We use the stamp pads to create finger prints, hand prints, letters of the alphabet, and other images. The plastic drop cloth keeps our floor clean when students use the art easel. Your donations have given my class multiple exploration opportunities using a variety of materials. Thank you for supporting my students and providing them with valuable art resources!”

Hooray for Pre-K!
Funded Jan 1, 2014Thank you for the wonderful resources your donations have provided for my Pre-K students! We use the easel every day to do felt board stories, write letters of the alphabet, and read big books. The magnetic book holders display books that go with our current theme. The big books and story read alouds allow me to introduce literacy concepts and practice these skills. We use the scissors in small groups when practicing fine motor skills. Every child now has a pair of appropriate sized scissors! The calendar is used daily to expose my students to time concepts. I love the big book rack because it organizes the big books and gives my students easy access to them. My class is developing fine motor and independence skills using the pitchers during snack time.
Thank you again for supporting my students by donating to this project. You have given them valuable resources that will be used daily to enhance their learning. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Sep 25, 2013Thank you for generously supporting my PreK students and providing such wonderful resources for us to use in the classroom. This is my first year teaching at this level and I have very few manipulatives and tools needed to give my students an optimal learning environment. Thanks to you, they now have cubbies, a sensory table, and an art easel.
The cubbies enable my students to learn organizational skills and keep their belongings in one place. Having access to cubbies gives them opportunities for independence. The sensory table is an integral part of our daily schedule, as I teach students with many sensory needs. With this table, I am able to provide multiple sensory environment for them to explore daily. It is the most popular center in the classroom!
My PreK students use the art easel every day. They love to paint and enjoy using a vertical surface. This especially important for my students who struggle with painting on the table. The 4 station easel gives all of them a turn to paint.
Thank you for your amazing support and generosity! My class and I appreciate your kindness and use these wonderful resources daily. You have given my students additional opportunities to explore and learn! Thank you very much!”

Funded Mar 27, 2013A very heartfelt thanks for your generous funding of my standing desk project. I have longed believe that the correct tools and resources can help any student learn in school. Over the years, I've noticed some students can't function in the classroom when sitting in a chair all day. Along came the truly clever standing desk and our problems were solved! Thanks to your generosity, my students can now stand while learning! The only problem is everyone wants one, including this teacher! They not only provide flexible seating options, but research has shown they are better for our health. No more crunched up bodies sitting in hard plastic chairs. Students can stand, sit on the stool, swing their feet; all with no disruptions or noise! Everyone is happy and learning in our classroom! I am so appreciative of your support. Especially with such an expensive item, one that I could never afford to purchase for my class! Your donations have truly had a positive impact on the students in my room, while also showing other teachers there are alternative ways to help our students learn! Thank you very much!”

Ms. Weimer
