• Captivating Books for Curious 4th Graders!

  Thank you so much for the books! When I moved to Portland to teach, I had to leave all my favorite high-interest books behind in San Francisco. It's been tough not having a strong classroom library—until now.

  Your donation helped me fill my shelves with books my students are excited to read. We have daily reading time, and it's amazing to see them so engaged. These books are getting used all the time, and the kids are even asking me to get more sets so they can read the same books together!

I love seeing how wobble seats give my more active learners the movement they need to concentrate, while the cozy floor seating makes our reading corner a favorite spot for diving into books. • Comfortable Seating for Reading

  Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are absolutely loving their new seats. They're so comfortable and inviting, and it's made a huge difference in the atmosphere of our classroom.

  I've noticed that the seats have even helped improve my students' focus and engagement. They can now rock gently while working on their activities, and I can really tell they're more comfortable and relaxed.

  We're rotating the seats so that every student gets a chance to use them, and everyone is thrilled. We also use the floor cushions every morning for our meeting. Students love getting cozy and relaxing on them as we discuss the day ahead.

  These seats have truly transformed my classroom into a welcoming and comfortable learning environment for all. Thank you again for your incredible generosity!”

• Social and Emotional Learning books for our Peace Corner

  Thank you so much for helping fund this project. These books have become an essential part of our class library. These books focus heavily on social emotional learning and highlight important lifelong skills such as kindness, friendship, and empathy. These books are available for students to read during Independent Reading time, but we also use these books as whole class read alouds. Additionally, every morning as part of our SEL time we spend a few minutes focusing on breathing. The breathing book has been a great addition to this time of the day. The kiddos look forward to their turn getting to lead the class in breathing exercises from this book. This collection of picture books has made a huge difference in our class library and has promoted engagement during our social emotional learning time of the day. Thanks for all of your support!”

• iPad for Peace and Mindfulness

  Thanks again for providing our community with iPads. I feel it's important to put technology resources in the hands of our students. iPad makes it possible for students to explore websites and use apps that engage them in learning. For example, the iPad you provided helps my students with social and emotional needs. I have downloaded several apps for social and emotional learning such as Calm, Headspace, and Class Dojo. There are also apps for Math, Reading, and other academic subjects. We are making great use of the iPad and every student gets a little time on it. Thank you for the gift :)”
