• PBIS Works!

  Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Without donors like you we could not fund our school store.

  The Bear's Den at our school is filled with fabulous prizes the students can purchase with their Paw's bucks.

  They earn these bucks by modeling good behavior. For example, showing traits such as working well with others, or accountability for your actions, and purposeful action will earn a student bucks from any staff member.

  This system works very well for keeping the culture and climate at our school a great learning environment for all.”

• Reading Rocks!

  Thank you again for helping me get my students excited about reading. They love the new books and some of them are even able to read them.

  It is so wonderful to be able to watch these children go from learning abc's and sounds to putting it all together as they sound out larger words.

  Of course, their favorite book is the one about farts. I have to designate a child of the day to be able to read that one.

  Your donation means so much to so many. These books will be in my classroom for years to come.

• Excellence Rewarded!

  Thank you!! Our PBIS Team was so very grateful for these ring pops, fidget toys, and snap bracelets.

  Our system really works however, the funding is scarce. I cannot thank you enough for helping us reward the children who do the right thing every day!

  Just seeing my students smile as they earn a "buck" is so rewarding. Most children are very motivated by positive reinforcement. This helps the climate and culture of the entire school.

• Behavior Incentives

  Thank you so much for your support with this project. My students were thrilled.

  I realize many people may think six and seven year olds are easy to manage, however that is not always the case.

  In my class I use Class Dojo which keeps a running tally of how many points a student earns for each week. They get points for behaving, doing homework, and being a good citizen.

  Each Friday the top three winners get to choose a prize from my prize box. Thanks to you my prizes are very motivational! I was running out of things to stock it with.

  Now my students are even more anxious to do the right thing so they can win!”

• Little Gardeners

  Thank you so much for your donation to this project. My students were so excited to see all the large boxes delivered to our classroom.

  Unfortunately, first graders do not quite understand why we need to wait for Spring in Michigan to plant. The garden beds will work perfectly in our courtyard where we want to start a perennial butterfly garden that will be used by a lot of students for years to come.

  We are going to plant an assortment of milkweeds plus other flowering plants that will spread and return each year.

• Salad Bowls

  I apologize for the lame photos. Unfortunately my thank you due date is way before the project is to be used. Please let me know and I will send more pics when the children make their gifts for mom.

  This project is intended to created living salad bowls for the families. I usually get flowers to give them. I thought a more healthy option would be a good choice.

  The students are very excited and want to start now. However, our weather in Michigan is not optimal for growing right now. By Mother's Day the weather will be perfect and lettuces grow fast!

• Happily Ever After!

  Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a wonderful end to the school year. We were all sick of the curriculum, so using the fairy tale theme was amazing. My kids really enjoyed comparing and contrasting the stories. It was great to see.

  The children drew pictures depicting the beginning, middle, and end of the stories. They also compared them to the old versions. We had some very good discussions.

• Healthy Habits

  Thank you for your generosity. My students loved being able to make their own smoothies. Every Friday we had smoothie day. It was a great motivator not only for behavior but also for attendance.

  One of the great things about our smoothie making was we were able to use mostly left over fruit and juice from breakfast. I only added greens like kale and spinach. At first they were upset until they learned they don't really taste the greens in the smoothie.

• Full Steam Ahead

  Thank you so much for the Stem toys and activities. My students are having a blast playing with them. We have had many afternoons when it was too cold or rainy to go outside. So, the kids who behave (which is most of them) get free time.

  They really enjoy the straw building kit. They have made sculptures up to the ceiling. They also love Playdough! Every time we get to have choice time someone wants to have playdough to make things with.

  I cannot thank you enough for allowing me the opportunity to give my students this great educational experience.”
