• Pigeon Power!

  Thank you for your generosity. My students will be thrilled to have their own Pigeon book! Unfortunately my photos were not of them with the books because I want to save them for the holidays.

  Most of my first graders are just learning how to read. They will love having their own book to keep and share with their families. Your kindness will inspire a whole group of little people to become readers.

  Also, thank you for your help with public education. Our school does have near the funding as close by districts. It is wonderful to be able to treat my students this way!”

• Cool Firsties!

  Thank you, thank you, thank you! This refrigerator has been such a wonderful addition to our classroom. My students love being able to make treats from things we have kept chilled inside. A few weeks ago it was terribly hot and we were able to make juice popsicles inside the small freezer.

  One of the units we teach in first grade is "Tools". I was able to bring in an antique butter churn and the children made butter from cream. They were amazed! It was so fulfilling to see to the awakening in the eyes of children who thought butter came from a store!”

• First Grade Basics

  Thank you so much for your help with this project! Our classroom door is beautifully decorated in the apple green paper. We are adding witches and pumpkins created by the children. They love making things to show off their room.

  They also love the organizers. One is used as their "mailbox" where they put all their work to go home each day. The other is used to sort different colors of paper. They are able to use this paper to create art projects like the door decorations.

• Little Artists

  Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. My students love their new art supplies. They enjoy coloring with the crayons in all the colors. I have them color daily so to help strengthen the muscles in their tiny fingers.

  We have been learning about butterflies and their life cycle. So, we just made made butterflies using the beautiful colorful tissue paper. I had to let them each make two so I could keep one to display in the room. They really wanted to take theirs home.

  Thank you also for your support of public education. I always tell people how much I want my students to have the same school experiences as my own children from the suburbs. Thanks to you I am able able to do this!”

• Treats From The Sun!

  Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. My students are so excited to make S'mores with energy from the sun. Unfortunately, here in Michigan it has been quite cloudy and rainy lately. Hopefully, we will be able to make them soon.

  This project goes perfectly with our unit on the Sun, Moon, and Stars.

• Back at it Again!

  Thank you so much for these wonderful supplies. Your kindness and generosity have made my new first graders very happy! They love painting with water color even though we are still learning to mix the colors. They also really love using the colored pencils.

• Solar Growth

  Funded May 9, 2023

  Thank you for your kindness and generosity. My students were thrilled to be able to plant seeds that would attract butterflies. We hatched some painted lady eggs in class and were able to watch them lay eggs and repeat the life cycle.

  My kids were amazed! So as each student took home two larva to care for they also had a plant to feed the butterflies when they eclosed. It was a super cool way to end the school year and I know my students will remember it for the rest of their lives.
