  • For the Love of Reading

    Funded Feb 4, 2018

Thank you again for your generous donations. My students were absolutely thrilled with the new books and of course the chairs! Each day it is one of the tables chance to choose their chair for the day. Now more children can use the wobble stools because of you. I really think these stools are great for six year olds. They can move in their seat as they read and do their work. You know it is difficult for adults to sit still all day, so you can imagine how little kids feel.

Thank you for believing in public education. Your support means so much to those of us in need!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • Help Me Get To SEEC!

    Funded Nov 10, 2017

It is almost time for the conference and we are very excited. As you can see my students love to move and play. This conference had so many wonderful sessions for little ones, I am anxious to bring back some great ideas.

One of the sessions is about art and space which they will love. I am also signed up for a session to learn to make circuit bugs. I am very grateful for your generous donation and cannot wait to share all the wonderful ideas from this conference.

Thank you for your help with public education. Until we level the playing field this is the only option for these students to compete with children from wealthier schools.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • Squeaks on the Floor

    Funded Nov 16, 2017

Thank you so much for all your support! Thanks to you we now have three basketball teams! Right now the 7th and 8th girls are competing and they are doing very well!

The boys are practicing and do not compete until January.

I wish you could see the pride on their faces. Just being part of the basketball team has made such a difference for these kids! They come to school more often, behave better in class, and are looked up to by the rest of the students.

Thank you again for your help. We could not do this without generous people like you!

    Happy Holidays!”

  • First Grade Engineers

    Funded Nov 2, 2017

Thank you very much for your support and generosity. My students are thrilled with the Stem kits. They are perfect for my six year olds. At first I thought they might be too easy but after working with them they are just challenging enough. The hardest part is not helping them figure out what to do with the kits. They want me to tell them what to do and how to do it. I like to let them try to figure it out as a group. So far this is working wonderfully.

I would also like to thank you for your support of public education, we need all the help we can get.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sergeant

  • Animal's Life

    Funded Aug 21, 2017

Thank you so much for helping with this project. My students are studying animals and they each have their own "pet" meal worm. They have no idea what it is going to do or turn into. It so awesome to see them guess and predict as they care for their pet.

Of course they think it is a caterpillar and going to be a butterfly since we just watched our caterpillars change. The most exciting part of my job is being able to create a sense of awe and wonder in these little people. Thanks to you this year is off to an amazing start!

    Thanks again!”

  • Artful Learning

    Funded Sep 18, 2017

Hooray! My students are so happy with all the art supplies, they are asking me when can they use all of them....especially the glitter-sequin package! It is so nice to have all these awesome things to compliment our projects. As you may know, Art has taken a back seat to math and reading so many children do not get to use their creativity enough. Thanks to you my children are listening, responding, and creating to their favorite stories.

Our latest creation was the pigeon from Mo Willems books.....if you could see them they would make you smile.

Thank you again for your support!”

  • Amphibian Adventure

    Funded Jul 24, 2017

Thank you again for your support. My students are thrilled with all the amphibians in our classroom. They love the frogs and toads and have a great time watching them eat.

They also are thrilled by the tree frogs who actually have been making chirping sounds in the morning. It was a great compare/contrast lesson to choose your favorite two and describe how they are alike and different.

The timing of this project has been perfect because our first unit in science is animals and it so wonderful to be able to show them living creatures as they learn about the differences.

    Thank you again!!!”

  • Eye See It!

    Funded Jul 30, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students are loving the new projector. We watch CNN for children everyday. It was a wonderful way to explain the hurricane disasters in our country using real people and photos.

I cannot tell how wonderful this device makes my classroom. I can show them things as I see them on the computer all at the same time. It has made my job so much easier!

Thank you for believing in public education. Without people like you we teachers could not do our job near as effectively!”

  • Salt Life

    Funded Jun 27, 2017

Thank you so much for your wonderful donations. My children are very excited as they wait for the live creatures to arrive. Hurricane Irma slowed the delivery process, but our tank is set up ready.

They are constantly asking me what the huge container of salt is for....they thought we should put table salt in the tank! Try explaining the difference to six year old's.

Thank you also for believing in public education. These darling little people deserve the same great education I had as a child!”

  • Eat What You Sow

    Funded Mar 23, 2017

Thank you so very much for your generous donation. My students are so very excited to start gardening. We have begun planting seeds indoors and they are finally sprouting. The children cannot wait to check on their plants every morning as they get to school.

We are choosing herbs to plant for Mother's Day so each child can give their mom a painted pot with fresh herbs in it as a gift.

Thank you for your support of public education. We could not possibly do all these fantastic projects without people like you.”

My classroom is alive with animals and child friendly touchy-feely opportunity. Our newest addition is our saltwater aquarium. We are learning how to manage an ecosystem they may never see. We are helping our planet by recycling and hopefully creating a new awareness of taking care of the earth.
