Students will be able to continue their language acquisition at their own pace by choosing readers that are relevant and short enough that pique their interest and challenge their level 1 abilities. These books will also help increase their vocabulary and solidify their spoken language and listening skills as well. This project will help provide choices and opportunities for my class as part of an immersive language learning experience that will allow them to explore the Spanish speaking world from the comfort of the classroom. I will be able to create a class library that will provide opportunities for students to focus on Spanish books. Students will not have to leave the class to enjoy a good book as I start implementing a Spanish silent reading component in my classroom instruction.
