  • For the Love of Reading

    Funded Mar 7, 2020

You all are the absolute best! I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am. Your donations will place dozens and dozens of books on our shelves that will meet the needs of all readers. You have given my students the gift of reading. From me and the kids, THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • iPads for Innovative Learners!

    Funded Jan 2, 2020

I would like to sincerely thank you for helping to supply my students with iPads. These iPads will allow them to exercise their creativity, explore applications, learn to code, create and edit films, learn languages (including Spanish and English), practice multiple subjects like science and math, and explore in ways I can't even think of as technology is forever-changing.

They have already requested dozens of apps they want me to download onto the iPads and they have created mini-films about the environment. They are hopeful their films will win an upcoming film contest we are participating in! This would not have been possible without you and your generosity. So, on behalf of myself and the kids, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • Art Therapy

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for the art supplies you helped provide to my students. So far, we have done at least a dozen art and STEM projects with them, including Dia de Los Muertos, pointillism, and other holiday art projects. The kids even built ferris wheels and tool boxes with the MakerSpace supplies. I know we will get much more use out them! As you may or may not know, art is often a critical subject that gets ignored in many classrooms due to funding and lack of supplies. Thank you sincerely for helping us bring art into our classroom.”

  • Helping Students Understand Real World Issues and Showcase Their Thinking

    Funded Apr 9, 2019

Thank you for your support with this project. With your help, we were able to access a year-long subscription to Time for Kids and a die-cut machine. The Time for Kids has proven to be an extremely valuable resource. The kids are accessing current events, analyzing them, and applying them to their own lives. For example, we recently read and analyzed an article about buying Halloween candy in bulk vs. smaller quantities. Students used mathematical reasoning and developed their financial literacy skills to write a constructed response. As their teacher, this tool makes my job easier and their learning more powerful and meaningful. So THANK YOU sincerely for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

  • 3D Printer for Future Ready Learners

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

Thank you for our 3D printer! It is amazing! With this tool, students can exercise their creativity and be innovative creators. So far, they have created simple objects like cubic units (important when trying to understand volume), a Harry Potter wand, and even images of themselves! In the near future, students will be tasked to design and print things such as a California Mission, mathematics manipulatives, and more. I truly believe this tool will eventually be in all classrooms and serve as a staple for future-ready learning. As of right now, we are one of the few classrooms to have one and this makes the kids so proud and excited. So thank you for supporting them and making them excited about learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • For the Love of Reading

    Funded Dec 6, 2018

I cannot begin to thank you enough for our books. It is amazingly powerful for each student to have their own copy of a book during a novel study. Many of my students read below grade level so it is particularly important for them to hear how fluent reading should sound. When each student has their own copy of a book, they can go back and reread parts that may have been unclear. Furthermore, it aids in understanding of the text and you wouldn't believe how much higher their comprehension scores were with these novel studies. Thank you for putting meaningful and interesting reading material into the hands of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • 5th Grade Innovators

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

I underestimated how much my students would love the STEM kits you donated. We use them in the mornings when students arrive as "centers". Students have the opportunity to choose one of the many activities and work to build or create something as a group. Not only does this promote critical thinking and problem solving skills, it is also fun and engaging.

Their favorite kits are the ones where they get to build a roller coaster and where they assemble a skeleton using the various bones. I cannot thank you enough for your generous and thoughtful donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • Preparing for the 5th Grade Physical Fitness Test

    Funded Dec 1, 2017

When my students showed up in the first day after all of our equipment arrived, they were ecstatic! They could not wait to play with it. We have basketballs, kickballs, footballs, dodge balls, frisbees, hula hops, volleyballs, relay equipment, and a giant parachute.

Their favorite thing to play with a group is the giant parachute. Not only does it promote teamwork and arm strength, it is also extremely fun.

In a couple of months, my students take the physical fitness test. I am confident they will be prepared for it because they have been so active using this equipment.

    Thank you for your donation.

    From,

Mrs. Bradley and her 5th grade students”

  • Fifth Graders Need Art Therapy!

    Funded Jul 5, 2015

I want to sincerely thank you for your very generous donations. They have served their purpose and given my students the 'Art Therapy' they need. They get so excited when I bring the materials out. So from me and my students, thank you so much!

Art really is a relaxing time in this classroom. It is when we decompress, express ourselves, and relax without the stressors of a new curriculum and testing.

My students really enjoy using the oil pastels and watercolors because these are not materials they have been able to use in the past. In fact, I only had a handful out of the 33 of them who had ever used pastels. It was fun to teach them the technique of blending the colors together with the pastels.

This has impacted their learning because they are becoming familiar with very famous artists throughout history, they are expressing themselves in different ways, and they are having fun.

So from me and my fifth grade students, thank you so very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

My students are hard-working yet energetic. They are respectful but extremely chatty. To find balance, we need many hands-on activities. In a world full of high expectations for young people, in our class, art is therapy. It is a necessity. If you were to visit our classroom during art, you would find it to be a very peaceful and relaxing experience.
