Snug as a Bug on a Rug
Funded Apr 20, 2016The rug is the central "hub" of my classroom! We use it for whole group teaching, games, morning meeting and it is an optional spot for my learners to sit with our flexible seating plan. My learners have ample personal space on this rug, no squeezing in anymore!
The rug has enough shapes, rows and columns for all my learners to have a spot. The shapes and colors are a GREAT for calling my learners to line up! They ALL know the shapes now! It is such a great resource!
I truly appreciate your donation to my classroom! My learners have benefited greatly through group teaching and personal seat work! My classroom management is SO much easier because my learners are not sitting on top of one another! Thank you for making teaching EASIER and learning FUN!”

Wiggle Wobble
Funded Aug 11, 2016The wobble stools are absolutely perfect for my Kindergarten classroom! We lowered the table a tad for the students to be able to wiggle and wobble while working. I have noticed that this type of seating is my students favorite.
The students are able to move while working, creating a child centered learning environment. With these particular stools they are strengthening their core - which is an extra bonus! Obviously being able to move and work at the same time creates a positive environment!
My learners have a flexible seating option and everyday they get to sit somewhere new. Having the wobble stools as an option creates an excitement in the classroom. The learners truly enjoy learning and we embrace them wiggling as they are learning!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Neukom Family Foundation and 3 other donors.Fine Motor Mania
Funded Aug 26, 2015When we received our packages my students literally squealed with delight! We have about 20 minutes of fine motor time every morning, so the materials purchased through DonorsChoose allows my learners to have hands on materials. I wanted to steer clear of worksheets for my morning work time but truly needed more materials in order to do what I wanted to do! Your donation has helped immensely! I just completed our districts Parent Teacher Conference day and THREE parents told me they have seen a huge improvement in their child's ability to hold pencils/use scissors--that is HUGE! Those materials in my learners hands strengthens their little muscles they need! It's the most rewarding thing to see improvements, but when parents mention it?!? That was glorious!!! My learners gravitate so much to the materials when we have indiirvrevessx time they want me to pull out all the fine motor boxes! Thank you SO much for all the items, they are helping tremendously!!!”

Listening Center Stations
Funded Nov 18, 2013Thank you so very much for the listening stations you provided to my classroom. The students are super excited to get a listening center that actually WORKS! They said, "Oh, wow, we can hear the story the whole way through now!!!" We utilize the listening stations during whole group shared reading time as well as during our literacy centers block, where the students are ability grouped and some listen to a story while I am instructing a small group. Having equipment that works is HUGE because I am not hopping up and down during my guided reading time to help the listening station anymore! I am hoping to train the students (or at least 2/3 kiddos) to work the Ipod so they can listen to other stories during their center time. Not only are the students that are going to the listening center benefiting, but all the students in my room can work in a quieter atmosphere because the students at the listening center have their own headphones, which didn't work with the last listening station. As mentioned before, my instruction during my small group guided reading time has seen a dramatic improvement since i am no longer being "beckoned" to fix the listening station anymore. Thank you SO very much for your generosity! We are truly blessed to have your donation!”
