Save Me a Spot!
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you so very much for the new rug that you donated toward! We are now able to have morning meeting and all the students can see one another AND every student has an assigned spot for whole group instruction. Morning meeting time is essential for social emotional learning and creating a community. I am thrilled that my students are developing friendships and skills to manage their social/emotional behavior. It truly is amazing the difference having a "safe space" in the classroom can make!
The students in my classroom truly enjoy our whole group time now because they have their very own spot on the rug. I am able to have all my students near me and they are able to visually see the pictures in the book and all of our anchor charts. The students also often choose to sit on the carpet to do independent work.
I appreciate your donation and truly see the difference it has made for my little classroom family!”

Funded Nov 11, 2020Thank you so much for the computer monitor and the ring light! I have noticed a huge difference with the ability to teach using the secondary monitor. Before having the monitor I had to hop from one browser to the Teams browser to see my students. My students were also teeny tiny! The secondary browser is being used to be able to plan my lessons on the laptop and see my students on the monitor. This way I can see what my students see!
The ring light has brightened what the students can see on my end. I do a lot of manipulative teaching and without a ring light, they would complain about not being able to see. The ring light brings their attention to what the light is focused on. I love that it is adjustable! I can move it from focusing on me, and back to focusing on the manipulative. This also increased my students awareness of handwriting! They can visually see how I hold the pencil and form the letters!
Having the secondary monitor and the ring light has improved the quality of education for my learners and the effectiveness of my teaching, I greatly appreciate this generous donation!”

Funded Nov 11, 2020Having a MacBook has greatly impacted my teaching. I am the virtual kindergarten teacher for 24 students. I was struggling with the laptop given to me by my district. My old laptop was slow, kicking me out when I opened up browsers, the sound quality was extremely poor. My students, their parents and myself were getting extremely aggravated.
The Macbook has enabled me to teach in a effective, engaging manner. The speed of the streaming, the sound quality and the ability to have multiple browsers up has enabled me to get more teaching done! I no longer have to wait for games, videos, books to load. This makes me a more effective teacher!
The students no longer complain about not being able to hear me, or the books and videos I play. They are WAY more engaged with our live teaching sessions because of the MacBook. Looking back before I had my MacBook at my lessons to now, it is a world of difference!”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students now have the opportunity to listen to various stories throughout the school day. The students are assigned a listening station once a week and are able to freely choose to listen to stories everyday!
Having the option to listen to stories has promoted my philosophy to enjoy books. I don't think students should read books and always have an assignment to go with every story. Kiddos need to develop the love of reading in order to become lifelong readers. The addition of listening centers allows my kindergarten kiddos the opportunity to listen to stories for enjoyment!”

Funded May 10, 2018Thank you so much for the amazing literature you have brought into my classroom! My students have been exposed to fiction and nonfiction books that I was able to integrate into my lessons. For instance, the first two weeks of school we studied "All About Me" and the literature provided by your generous donation gave my learners a connection to themselves. Later in the year we will move onto various themes and my learners will have all the books you provided to make those themes come to life!
The disc-mans that were provided will be introduced to my learners as an option for literacy centers. These disc-mans will be placed in a baggy with different books on Cd's throughout the year. This will increase my learners love for reading and fluency!”

Funded Aug 15, 2017Thank you VERY much for the leveled books and book boxes you generously contributed to my classroom! We use the books every SINGLE day! My students can read throughout the day on the level they are assigned. Having a selection of leveled books at all times helps increase the student engagement and desire to read!
The students also get to bring the books home every week! Involving families in reading books on my students levels helps bridge the connection between home and school. I have many parents message me excited about how well their baby is reading!
Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Jul 3, 2017Thank you SO much for the listening station and the amazing Bluetooth headphones! My learners look forward to the listening station every week! Teaching Kindergarten, it is SO important to get the students to learn the concepts of print, left to right, top to bottom and turning pages. Having a listening station helps build that skill! I noticed one child in particular watching the other students point to the words and track the print and HE started doing the same thing! This was PRICELESS!
The listening center also helps the learners develop fluency and the love for reading! The excitement for my students to get books in their hands and listen to stories is precious! I love hearing them laugh at different points in the various books!
My classroom management has VASTLY improved with the addition of the listening center! The kids are enjoying the literacy center time and they hardly ever interrupt my small group time. I certainly appreciate that!
With the positive anticipation of the listening centers and the various other stations I use, my students are being tricked into learning!”

Funded Mar 29, 2017The Lakeshore alphabet tubs have been absolutely perfect for introducing the letters and the sounds the letters make!!! I have been mixing tubs together and having the students sort the items into the correct tubs!! This is an excellent assessment tool!! I foresee me using these tubs all year for intervention purposes!
The sensory table has provided a wonderful station for my learners to go to in the mornings! Since it is the beginning of the year, we have rice and letters of the alphabet for the leaned to pick it with tongs and record. I will change out the sensory materials as the year progresses! So far it is a BiG hit with my little kindergarteners!
I sincerely appreciate the donation you made for my learners! I love seeing the smiles on my students faces!! They have no idea they are learning, it's such fun for them!”
