  Reading is so important. This essential skill is the foundation for all of education. Keeping middle school aged students interested in reading can be extremely difficult. I strive to stock the library with relevant, diverse texts that will keep kids coming back over and over.

  Throughout the school year, the amount of children checking out books increased exponentially. Again, this wouldn't have been possible without you. Thank you so much for supporting public education!”

• Building a Library

  Two years ago, our school didn't have a library. For the past two years, I've been building a space for students to check out books, talk about books, and read books in a calm and relaxing environment. Your generous donation has made it possible to fill our bookshelves with diverse books that appeal to many different kinds of students. I have noticed that over the past two years, the number of students reading daily at our school has increased. I am so proud to have been a part of that. • You Spin Me Right Round, Baby

  Funded Sep 22, 2021

  This is the third year we have had a Color Guard team on our middle school campus. The students have thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills and performing for our families. We needed new silks and flag poles this year because our Guard has grown from six members to eleven.

  The students were extremely excited when we got the new equipment! Prior to that, they had been sharing and were now able to each have their own flag. Thank you so much for making that happen!

  Next year, our plan is to compete in the Texas Color Guard Circuit and hopefully bring back a trophy! Again, thank you so much for your generous donation and for supporting public schools!”

• Reading at Home

  Funded Aug 10, 2020

  Thank you so much for supporting my students and my classroom. When we left school in March, we weren't sure what things were going to look like for a long time. It was so abrupt and many students weren't able to take books home. This project allowed me to send books to students and to pass some out when we were able to come back to the building.

  Reading is a fundamental skill and I am a big proponent of choice when it comes to having students read. I want them to be able to choose something they like and they WANT to read. The large variety of books I was able to order ensured that there was something for everyone.
