My Imagination Is Boundless!
Funded Jun 9, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students are starting to enjoy the supplies you have provided us with. We have not used the paint yet, but the paper, glue, and other craft supplies are being used regularly. Once we are firmly settled into our routines, we will begin to paint, and I know the children are going to love expressing themselves with this new medium.
Your gifts will continue to thrill my students for the entire year and into next year. We have science fairs and social studies fairs that will require creative exploration and expression. In addition we will be working on all kinds of fun projects to help my students have well-rounded learning experiences. Your kindness is appreciated.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by Lands' End and 3 other donors. Some Think I Can't Learn. Luckily, My Teacher Knows I Can!
Funded Mar 18, 2010When we came back from our break, your package was waiting for us. I had not told the children it was coming. I showed them the boxes of materials and explained to them that generous strangers had donated money to buy us these fun math games and book baggies that we needed to make our learning more effective, organized and fun. The children were amazed that people who didn't know them would be so kind, which led to a great conversation about taking care of each other in our communities and beyond. Each child was immediately given a chance to return their old books, pick new ones, and put them into their new book baggies. They were very excited! Later in the day, some of the children had an opportunity to play with a few of the math games. This is just the beginning of hours of fun and learning, thanks to your generosity.
Now, we have had the materials for weeks, and the children are enjoying the math games! They are getting so good at creating multiple digit numbers and understanding how big numbers are made, as well as what each digit in big number stands for. These are all important skills to know before moving on to third. grade. Thanks again for your kindness.
