Magical Maker Space to Encourage Future Scientists, Mathematicians and Engineers
Funded Mar 26, 2018Thank you so much for your generous gift. My students have loved exploring our maker space. The items that were purchased are fun, engaging, and hands-on for my little engineers. They have explored building houses, bridges, vehicles, sky scrapers, and so much more! They have learned how to plan their design, how to test it, and what to do if their design fails. These materials have helped to encourage students with the creative design process, and they allow them to collaborate with their peers. Students are encouraged to think critically about their projects and problem solve along the way. Thanks to you all, I have enough materials so that every student can have a meaningful, hands-on learning experience.
These materials are a wonderful addition to our classroom and we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Reading Our Way Through First Grade!
Funded Mar 30, 2017Thank you so much for supporting my first grade classroom! My students have loved digging into new, fun beginning chapter books. These beginner chapter books are filled with favorite characters that first graders LOVE! An expanded library in our classroom have allowed these books to be read by many students, and to be kept in the reading boxes that first graders use each day! Classroom library baskets are spread throughout our entire classroom to showcase the importance of reading! An abundant classroom library encourages students to choose books they enjoy, and motivates them to read. Your gift has helped to grow another group of readers and will for years to come! Thank you!”

Funded Nov 7, 2016Thank you so much for supporting this project! I love that my students have had daily opportunities to listen to quality literature on the iPods to build their reading skills.
My students LOVE choosing a place to sit down to read! The easy to use iPods are one of the most used centers in my classroom! The 6 and 7 year old students in my class are very excited to listen to the animated voices and music as each story is read to them during their center time!
Your support of this project has provided our classroom with essential learning materials and we are so grateful for your kindness!”

Building Strong Bodies and Minds with Obstacle Course Fun!
Funded Aug 19, 2016Thank you so much for supporting this project! I am AMAZED at the wonderful things that TARGET is providing to public schools around the U.S.! The best part of this opportunity is that my students got to bring their ideas to life in our classroom!
So far this school year, my students have had daily opportunities to move their bodies and stay active in new ways that are FUN and EXCITING!!! All of the amazing recess materials keep the first graders active and having fun during their recess time each day! Our first days of inside recess due to the weather kept my students active and engaged!
My students loved building obstacle courses, and the best words that I heard was "I am so sweaty!" I loved hearing that children are moving their bodies and staying healthy while being creative.
Your support of this project has provided our classroom with exciting learning materials and we are so grateful for your kindness!”

Funded Aug 5, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations to our active learning project. The first graders in my classroom are full of live, love, and joy. Their little eyes grew big and their faces lit up with excitement as we opened each and every box as it arrived. The children have enjoyed using our active learning supplies in a variety of different ways - using balls to practice skip counting, leaping across the room to get wiggles out, and playing a good old fashioned game of catch. Keeping kids healthy and moving is so important and the items that our classroom received will help me do just that.
As winter approaches, and the cold air starts to settle over our area, I know that the children will be able to use the same equipment that we use outside in our large learning commons and gym areas to help keep wiggles at bay. Thank you for supporting teachers and especially for supporting my students in North Dakota!”

Funded Apr 7, 2016Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generous donations to this project! My students and I are so grateful and thank you for your support!
The materials for this project began arriving within days of completion and my students were SUPER excited! As each item arrived and we unpacked them, we talked about the different ways we would use each of the items as part of the new flexible seating arrangement in our classroom. The first graders shared many great ideas for ways to do their best work while sitting on a wobble cushion, wiggle chair, pillow, or using a lap desk or tray. Their eagerness and excitement to try something new was so exciting! This discussion was so important for our classroom as it helped us to set the expectations for behavior while choosing a place to sit. It also reinforced that all of our new options were to provide students with places to work that helped them learn the most!
This project has totally changed the classroom atmosphere for my first grade students. We now have an open classroom where students choose where they will work throughout the day. In the future, I hope to expand this project by adding some large, comfortable bean bag chairs and more student lap trays and desks!
Thank you again for supporting education and helping make this project a success for our classroom!”

Funded Jul 12, 2012Thank you, thank you, thank you! Our classroom carpet has been an amazing addition to our classroom community! The carpet serves as a gathering place, work space, play space, and learning space. Children enjoy having their own personal learning space which has helped them to focus on learning during whole group time. The carpet brings a brightness and freshness to our classroom, and has truly contributed to a feeling of community in our classroom. The children are excited each day to come to our classroom, and look forward to our daily meetings, lessons, and independent learning on the carpet.
Because of your generous gift, my current and future students have also been given a gift that will last for years to come, and I have been given an instructional tool that will assist with classroom management now and in the future. This carpet makes me happy, and it makes my students smile.
Thank you for impacting a child's education in such a positive way.”

123: Numbers For You and ME!
Funded Sep 15, 2011Once again, I think you for your generous donations to the children in my classroom. The children are loving the new math games and manipulative's. One of their favorites is the counting cakes! This is such a great center for them as they learn numbers and practice counting. The children love using the number stamps to practice tracing their letters, and now they are using the counting rings to practice addition and subtraction! It is so fun watching them develop into little mathematicians. Developing a love for numbers when they are young is SO important. Thank you for helping to develop this desire to learn!”

Folder Fun with Math!
Funded Jul 4, 2011A million thanks you's are not enough to express our gratitude for your generosity to our classroom. Your kindness and generosity has not only impacted my life and my teaching, but the adorable, curious, ever-learning five and six year olds that I teach. We love using the math folder games in our classroom!
Having these folder games in our classroom has impacted our learning in so many ways. It is so great to provide additional reinforcement for the skills that we are learning every day in Kindergarten. These folder games focus on a different skill in each box. The children LOVE the variety. They never get bored, and most importantly they are having fun learning and practicing. We love that each set of games have varying levels of difficulty. This allows me to choose the game that is best suited for each student - high skills, low skills, or right in between! Each child is getting exactly what he/she needs.
We use these file folder games 2-3 times per week. Math is fun and exciting for the kids that I teach. They love to learn and having great materials not only motivates them to be learners, but also motivates me to be a better teacher. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I hope that you are inspired to make another donation to improve the education of the youth of our future as well as supporting our military families.”

Mrs. Pedersen
ABC's For You and ME!
Funded Dec 23, 2010I can not thank you all enough for donating to our classroom project! I was elated when I got the e-mail that our project was fully funded! It is with your help that our future generation will have a solid educational footing. The resources that I have chosen will benefit the students in so many ways. They will be able to interact with the alphabet in a hands-on, fun, engaging way that children love. We ask children to do so much in their first year of schooling, and providing them with opportunities to make learning fun is so important!
Teaching on an air force base means that children are continually coming and going when their parents receive new orders to different military bases around the world. The children come to our school with varying skills. These materials will help them to maintain their skills or catch-up to the rest of the class.
The children at my school sacrifice so much every day when their mom or dad is deployed serving our country as a member of the armed forces. This sacrifice impacts their learning in more ways than one. Providing a safe, educational, and above all else -- fun classroom for them to be in is my ultimate goal. With your help, the children that come into my classroom will receive the best education with the best materials that I can offer them.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for helping to make our classroom a wonderful place where children can grow and learn!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pedersen
