My students bring a playful, creative and enthusiastic energy to our classroom every day. They are the reason I have been teaching kindergarten for 30 years! Each day, my 23 students engage in imaginative play from "grooming dogs" in our pet shop to building rockets with magna-tiles or retelling stories with puppets or acting out plays. I love providing materials and opportunities for students to let their imanginations soar! Each year, my students put on a mini-musical for their parents. It's the perfect way to end our year together. The students design the scenery, dress in costume, sing, dance and have speaking parts. They put on an amazing show! This wouldn't be possible without all the steps prior. We learn to share and speak in front of others. We're silly and dance a lot. We retell stories and put on puppet shows. We take chances, build our confidence and let our imaginations take flight.
