Seasonal Books!
Funded May 3, 2018Thank you so much for you generous donations. These books have opened the doors of exploration for my students. They love to dive into these books and learn about a new idea or story. We love to have these stories as read-aloud books and then the students can read them at their own pace when it's time for independent reading.
In my classroom, my students are able to use these books to help learn about a new topic. They can do research based projects on the information they have learned and complete cross-curricular assignments.
My students have thoroughly enjoyed using these books to learn and we look forward to the adventures ahead!”

Funded Apr 21, 2018Thank you so much for your continued support of my classroom. The students were so excited to see all of these colorful comfy seating options arrive in our classroom. My students love the new comfy seats that allow them to learn and practice in their own spaces.
When it is independent work time, students can grab a seat spot or a reclining chair and find a quiet spot to work around the room. They can relax while they work and feel comfortable, allowing them to focus. The bouncing bands and wobble chairs allow my students to wiggle and move their body so their brains can focus on their work.
These flexible seating options have made a great impact on my students and I look forward to watching my students continue to enjoy them!”

Funded May 3, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations! These books are helping to foster a love of reading and learning with my students. My students love taking adventures with these books while we read them!
The family themed books have been popular with my students as they can relate these stories to their own lives. This creates great discussion in my class between the students and within small groups.
In my classroom, my students enjoy reading these picture books to each other as well as independently. They use these books to align with our curriculum and follow the themes throughout each week. As they read new books, they gain further understanding of topics and are able to make authentic connections.
Thank you again for making all of this possible for my students!”

Building Our Classroom Community!
Funded Jun 23, 2017Thank you for your generous donations towards helping my students get a new beautiful classroom rug. My students enjoy gathering on the rug daily for our community meetings, story time, and whole group lessons. The rug allows the students to spread out and fit comfortably. They also use it to work on special projects that require more space to spread out. Since the rug has bright colors and shapes, we can use it for games and review activities.
When my students first walked into my classroom on the first day of school, they seemed to feel welcome in my classroom. Since the classroom rug has so many spaces, each child felt like they were a part of a community with a place they could all gather together. There was a space for everyone to feel like a welcome member of our class.
Throughout the rest of the year, my students will continue to join on the rug and participate in community activities. We will continue to use it for review games, community meetings, learning activities, and our favorite Friday activity: dance parties!
Again, thank you so much and know that you are contributing to our classroom community: an essential part of our Kindergarten learning!”

Funded Sep 23, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. These materials will be a great addition to the writing curriculum for my students. We will be receiving great resources for writing and my students will be able to be more organized and thoughtful as they become successful writers.
I am looking forward to using these materials with my students so they can publish their writing and be proud to share it with their peers. We are lucky that people like you value what goes on in our classroom and support our needs for materials like these.”

Making Learning SEW fun!
Funded Oct 10, 2013Upon receiving the sewing materials, my students were extremely grateful. They were excited to learn a new skill and work with new materials. There was fabric, buttons, beads, needles, and thread: an array of colorful objects that they couldn't wait to get their hands on.
We began our first lesson by learning how to safely use the needles and how to secure the embroidery hoop on our fabric. From there, we learned how to make a simple stitch and the students took off. They were quickly sewing all kinds of designs and shapes. The students all have a "practice pillow" where they are learning different stitches as well as how to sew on beads, buttons, patches, and sequins. When they are done, they will see how their sewing skills have grown.
The sewing materials have given the students a chance to practice a skill that is not only useful for life but also helps them improve their focus and concentration. Along with that, they are also using their fine motor skills as they create beautiful projects they can be proud of. This project has contributed to my classroom by giving the students a new and unique way to express their creativity and apply learned material.
My students and I are extremely grateful for your generous donations. Because of you, they have embraced this new skill and will continue to grow as creators.”
