Funded Mar 27, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations. Because of you I have completed a very long project of a piano lab. I have Been working for years creating this piano lab and not the students can finally learn to play the piano. The tablets that I got in a previous project were unprotected and now, with your help, they all have cases. This will ensure their safety when being used by the students.
With the last step in place I will be able to create a space that is safe and practical that the students can use. By learning the piano my students will be putting practical use to learning to read music and they will be enhancing their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. They will also have to learn to work together on music to sound like a group instead of a mess.”

Funded Apr 22, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations. Because of you the students now have parachutes to play with. We have been using them when learning about how are voice goes up and down, high and low. The parachutes have become an engaging and fun way to show and practice high and low voices through vocal exploration and song.
In the future I plan to create dances with the parachutes to get my older students working as a team and moving. I also plan to create more games to practice using vocal techniques through vocal exploration. It truly has changed the way I approach this topic of high and low voices. I believe the visual and physical motions have really let students see and hear the differences in their voice, all because of you.”

Funded Dec 4, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of you my students will now be able to play the keyboards in the classroom. I had recently received twelve keyboards and the only way to play them is through an app that gives the keyboard sound information. Long story short, now they will be able to make sounds and the students can begin learning some basic piano skills.
As a pianist myself, the idea of teaching my favorite thing is just so exciting. For years the students have been asking to learn and for years I have had to tell them no for one reason or another. Now I get to say yes and I am so happy. The students are also very excited to start learning. Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 28, 2023My students and are are so grateful for all of the generosity everyone has shown. Because of your donations my classroom now has an updated library filled with new and singable books. As a music teacher I don't always think about reading to the students and I never had the budget to buy new books. As a result I was reading the same five books to my students over and over again.
With some of my most challenging classes I use a story to transition them from one activity to the other. This helps them to calm their bodies down and get ready for a new activity. Now, with a new library I have tons of new books to share with my students and we can read new books every week. They have all been so excited!”

Funded Apr 1, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my project. Because of you I was able to purchase a new rug for my classroom. While the school was empty during our COVID shutdown the boiler broke, filled the building with condensation, and molded the entire building. All the rugs in th building had to be thrown away!
With the new rug I can finally invite the students to comfortably come and sit around the piano to sing. The colors of the rug it makes for easy instruction to simple dances. The design of the rug allows me to use the pictures and staff to teach reading music. When students can learn from their environment it seems to stick for longer because they remember the experience.
It is your generosity that makes the classroom warm and inviting. It creates an interactive place to learn and memorable experiences for all.”

Sound Improvements
Funded Feb 14, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations. I can not wait to be allowed back to school to be able to hang the sound boards up in the gym. I have been working with local sound technicians to ensure they are put in the best places to ensure the best results.
With these sound boards I will be able to dampen the echos in the gym to allow for better performances during assemblies. Even the gym teacher is excited to give his voice a rest. These donations will be improving the quality of the school not just a classroom for generations to come.”

Funded Dec 24, 2020Thank you very much for your generous donations. The students have already begun using them during music class. Students have been using various platforms to record them selves, singing, dancing and yes kazooing away to Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling!
Because of you, the students who are feeling left out in music have found a way to include themselves. Being that they are remote learners, they are having time finding their voices. Through the kazoo they are able to let their guard down and use their voices with out fear of being told it sounds silly, because, well, it does!
You have opened up a world of fun for them in this very lonely world they are having to be in.”

Recorder Time!
Funded Dec 22, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations. All of my grade three students have all received a recorder and it has truly changed the way I teach music. With every student receiving a recorder I have given them an equitable way for the students to participate in learning a new instrument.
Grade three is traditionally a very instrument oriented year and this year they were crushed to learn they would be learning about instruments but not playing them. This disappointment was reversed when they found out they would be learning the recorder! Again thank you so much for your generosity.”

Instruments for All
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations. Because of your thoughtfulness, all of my students were able to receive an instrument. They have all received rhythm sticks to help them to better feel the beat and practice rhythms. This instrument is a versatile way for students to create and explore sounds. Students of all levels and abilities can use this instrument to improve abilities such as hand eye coordination, a sense of beat, math and reading music.
So again, I say thank you for your generous donations. You have truly given them an opportunity to thrive in this unprecedented time. You have unlocked the ability to have a meaningful music class through inclusion and creation.”
