My students are a heterogeneous group. I have gifted students, average students, students with learning disabilities and students who are limited in English proficiency. I have to say, I love the mixture! It is amazing how they all come together to form a team environment and help each other. We do a lot of cooperative learning, so students are in charge of helping their peers learn at times. We are a very tight-knit school with about 1,000 students. Most of the students have been at the school since Kindergarten, so we are like a big, happy family. We celebrate successes and help each other learn if we fail. We are currently an A+ school and strive to continue our academic excellence. My favorite thing about our school is our yearly theme, which teachers then tie into their classrooms through all subject areas, character education and community service projects. I am proud to be part of a loving, caring school that has such involved parents and students!
