Manga Madness
Funded May 3, 2022School just started back this week. I created a display with the Manga books you purchased for our library, HUNTER X HUNTER, and the students were so happy to see them. Many had asked as school was ending if I was going to buy new books, I just told them I would try, knowing all along these were on their way.
Thank you for providing new books for my students. More importantly, thank you for providing books they wanted and are excited to read. Being able to put books, requested books, in the hands of my students is the most important job I have.
It makes my heart happy to see these books 'fly' off the shelves.”

Funded Mar 7, 2020Thank you so much for providing the Manga books for my students. They were so excited to open the box, see them on the shelves and check them out. Some just sat down in the library and started reading. It is a challenge to get students excited about reading and whenever I can find books they want we all win. The books you bought for my library will not spend many days on the shelves and will make many students happy. The readers will be able to escape everyday life for just a little while and be emerged in the world of Manga.”

Funded Aug 7, 2019My students were so excited to see all the cool stress relievers in the library! And word spread fast that I had cool stuff in the library. Students and teachers have been coming in the library to chill out. It is so nice to see students just grab a squishy and sit down to read.
Students have come to the library and found the kinetic sand! They take it to a table and just 'play' for a few minutes, talk to each other and just take a mental break. It is great to see students just relax for a few minutes.
Thank you so much for providing students and teachers materials to just escape life for a few minutes. Students can actually unplug and just zone out for a good reason.”

Funded Aug 6, 2019My students were so excited to see these books displayed in the library. Some were even in the library when I opened the boxes, it was like Christmas! They could hardly wait for me to get them ready to put on the shelf.
Many of my students work to help support their family so reading is a way for them to escape for a little while. Several students read books with characters and situations they can relate to because of their situation. These books help students not feel alone in the world.

Funded Aug 7, 2019Thank you so much for funding my project. Students are able to work on study notes and color code them so it will help them study better. They are able to make flashcards to study together and use post it's to add notes in their textbooks.
With all the color markers and big fat markers, students are able to make school posters. Students make posters to promote their clubs and organizations. They make posters to promote school spirit and encourage our competing teams. And sometimes they just need a break and enjoy coloring. So the markers along with adult coloring pages help students to just escape the stress of school and everyday life.

Funded Nov 21, 2017I can't thank you enough for the generous grant to purchase new books for my library. All the books requested were student request! When the books arrived, I quickly got them processed and shelf ready. The students who had requested the books were then called to the library for a sneak peek and were thrilled to see the books. I quickly process the books for check out and the students were able to take them home that afternoon. Since then, the word spread and all books have holds, students waiting to check them out. Thank you for bringing happiness to my students and providing new books for them to enjoy.”

Thank you for helping me put books in the hands of my children. Books are a great way and sometimes the only way my students can escape real life. They were so happy to find some of the most current titles they had been requesting and the missing books to series they have been reading. The books you helped purchase will be read by many students.

Reading In All Languages
Funded Dec 19, 2015I can not thank you enough for the books you helped purchase for our library. Literally everyday we have students enroll in our school who have never been in school before and do not speak any English. We have a many students who have been in the USA for a few years and still have limited English. These books will help students learn English and even offer them a few hours of escape from their real life.
Students came to the library for the first time since I have gotten the books. I had the aide translate that we now have books in Spanish and showed them the Spanish section. They were so excited. They kept easing closer and we were telling them all about the books. As soon as I had shared all information and they could check them out, the smiles and chatter was amazing! It brought tears to my eyes to see them so excited and happy about having books they could read.

Books Bring Joy
Funded Aug 21, 2015I can not tell you how excited the students were to see these new books. Some of the students were even with me when I opened the boxes. As soon as I told them what was in the box they were crowded around requesting books. I could not even get them processed because they took them and started to read! My heart was full! As soon as word spread the books flew off the shelves. My 'neat' little display was soon empty. Students have been coming in requesting 'the new books' and it makes me happy and sad to tell them they are checked out. But on the positive side, students are coming in the library to check out books! And when the book they want is not here, I can usually find another book for them to check out. My goal was to provide new books but my ultimate goal was to have students come to the library and check out books. Thank you so much for helping me achieve this goal.”

Let it Grow
Funded Sep 9, 2014I can not thank you enough for the materials you purchased for my students. They have loved reading the books and learning about different plants and how to plant our garden. We are compiling our list of materials for our spring garden now. We have been researching plants, composting and garden layouts. This is such a fun project we are working on and we have had so much fun getting our hands dirty. Thank you for helping my students learn skills that will be useful for them in their school career.”
