Students need to see, feel, and know the relevancy of what they are learning. We will experience how energy and matter move through the natural ecosystem, shrub steppe, in which we live, but few students have experienced first hand. Students meet volunteers passionate about the conservancy of the vanishing shrub steppe, learn more about organisms that live there. By exposing students to nature, the future stewards of our Earth, they will be better connected and prepared to take care of the places we live. Students will apply their knowledge of food webs, energy and matter flow, resilience, and more during this full day event.
