  • We Jones For Headphones 2

    Funded Jun 4, 2013

These headphones are awesome! The few headphones I had were aging quite badly: some with broken pieces, some with one dead speaker, and some with loose wires. These are just what my music technology students need! They sound amazing and are definitely even more durable than the headsets they are replacing. The rich deep lows and crystal clear highs will give my students a new appreciation for music of all styles! Your generous donations are greatly appreciated by myself and my wonderful students. We will start using them today!”

They now have new tools to learn music theory and performance skills. Through studying a musical instruments, my students will learn self-discipline, learn to help each other as well as help themselves learn and grow on their instruments. • Cymbals Make Us Nimble!

    Funded May 8, 2012

As you can see from the photos, we have already unpacked and set up our cymbals! Students were eager to hear their ring and crash. The hi-hat cymbals are clean and clear for rock, jazz, hip-hop, and more! The ride cymbal is strong but not too strong. The crash cymbal has a definite presence! The bonus Chinese cymbal adds unique textures to any song. Together, they make us groove harder and elevates our spirit, professionalism and aura. THANK YOU!

  • We Jones for Headphones!

    Funded Mar 21, 2012

On behalf of myself and my 103 current music students, THANK YOU! Your generous donations are immensely appreciated. Our old headphones were dropping like flies due to age. Some would only play through one side, others had exposed wires, and still others showed no sign of life.

These new headphones arrived just yesterday. My students quickly unwrapped them and were instantly impressed by their look and feel. Their drive to listen to and create new music has just been kicked up three notches! This morning the first thing they asked for were the headphones.

The music is clearer than ever before! Each student in my composition class can now hear their compositions being written on Note Flight (noteflight.com) with amazing clarity! The lows and highs bring new depth and clarity. Students can now hear subtleties in familiar songs they never would have hear otherwise. ”

  • Heed the Call of the Trumpet!

    Funded Dec 30, 2011

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. My students lit up as they opened these trumpets. The sound is excellent! We have already begun to study "My Favorite Things."

These trumpets will allow us to expand our wind ensemble. I have already begun recruiting new members for February. I am planning to arrange more trumpet-centered music such as John Williams' "Raider's March" and a Star Wars medley.

You are truly helping to introduce new generations to the world of music making. Because of you, this world will have more people with enhanced appreciations for music and the joy it brings!”

Because you have selflessly to our cause, more students can now play, learn and explore music through these electronic pianos.

We have been using our pianos to study music theory, rhythm, melody, proper fingering and more. These pianos sound wonderful and really excite musical curiosity in my students that is priceless.

Music will continue to be a part of their lives as they pursue different careers. I know they will pass on their passion for music to their children and so your gift of music will have an impact for generations!”

  • New Flutes for New Recruits!

    Funded Mar 17, 2011

My self and my students eternally grateful for your compassion and generosity. Your donations allowed 5 more students to have instruments and expanded our wind ensemble.

In recent times music has been often overlooked in public education in the United States. Learning about and playing music offers a creative outlet unmatched by other subjects and disciplines. Music exists all around us everyday in many forms. Learning and playing music engages many regions of the brain and makes many new neurological connections that other subjects simply cannot do. It should be a no-brainer to include music in public education.

The wind ensemble is currently practicing major and minor scales, staccato vs legato articulations, and good tone production. As part of our Jazz and American music focus, we are currently working on "When the Saints Go Marching In," Saint James Infirmary," and "When Johnny Comes Marching Home." We will be playing in late May and early June for school assemblies and our schools first school-wide pep rally.

I hope that you continue to value music education in our society and encourage others to actively support arts education throughout the country and throughout the universe!”

    Funded Dec 23, 2010

My students are ecstatic to have these brand new baroque recorders! When I told them that your generous gifts would allow us to have these, they cheered like fans of the latest World Series champions!

My students are already delving into the fingerings, pitches and note values! Our first song was "Mary Had a Little Lamb" to get our feet wet! We already working on excerpts and pieces from Beethoven and Bach! We are also looking at New Orleans classics such as "When the Saints Go Marching In."

We are beginning to make some beautiful sounds and our minds are working in new ways that only music can stimulate. Take a look at some of the pictures of our young musicians.”
