Thank you so much for supporting our project! We are just beginning our unit on finding the slope of a line and graphing. Your help could not have come at a better time! I am so excited to share our new resources with my students. These materials will make our lessons more engaging and interactive!”

  • Inspired by Scholastic ART!

    Funded Nov 10, 2015

I am thrilled that you have supported my project by providing funding! I am so excited to share the Scholastic ART magazines with my students. We are consistently looking for new ways to inspire our love of art and art making.

The magazines your donations have funded will be used by middle school students to learn about the arts. These magazines will promote literacy and writing through artists, techniques and cultures. Thank you again for your generous donations!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frazier

  • Pinch Pots and Coil Pots and Masks, OH MY!

    Funded Dec 10, 2014

There are not enough words to describe the impact your donations have had on our art classroom. All of my classes were ecstatic to see the new supplies arrive in our classroom! The students could not wait to find out what they would be able to do with all the new gifts. We have already completed so many projects with the materials your donations have afforded.

In Kindergarten, we used the Crayola Dough to develop fine motor skills by making pinch pots. Students enjoyed the ability to start over so easily to perfect their skills. The looks on their faces when they 'got it' was priceless. First graders used the model magic to learn about fish. They created their own fish using markers to color the model magic. They certainly did not want to leave the fish behind to let them dry before transporting them home!

Sixth graders worked in partners to make models of their hands using Plast'r Craft. They were excited to use a new material. They are still amazed when they come to class and their hand mold is still in its original form. They are currently working to paint their hands with the acrylic paint. Seventh grade made masks using a mask mold and Plast'r Craft. They worked in pairs to cut the plaster gauze and put it on the mask mold. They are currently working on finalizing their ideas for this masks before painting them and decorating the masks.

Our students have learned collaboration, problem solving and many more skills through these projects. Your donations have enhanced the learning of many children and will continue to make an impact on many, many more!”

  • Brushes and Paper and Paints, Oh My!

    Funded Mar 20, 2015

YOU ARE OUR HEROES! Thank you is not enough to express my gratefulness for your generosity. I could not have done it without you! I cannot wait to see my students faces when we receive the new painting materials. They will be anxious to get started painting and creating!

We will be able to get back to painting with watercolors. Paintings will have a place (drying-rack) to dry. Paint trays will help us stay clean and organized. The paper will provide a durable surface for longer term tempera paint projects. Students will be able to master the medium of paint! Our art classroom will be transformed into a painting studio!

Thank you for giving my students the resources to create art!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Frazier

Students need to learn how to make sense of the equation: y=mx+b. My goal is to provide manipulatives to make graphing lines on a coordinate plane less intimidating. The dry erase boards have the XY axis preprinted. The sticky notes also have the XY axis preprinted. This takes the chore of drawing the coordinate plane out of the equation! Students only need to worry about where to plot the points and draw the line, which is more than enough work! Students will also be able to reference the graffiti posters for new vocabulary and a visual to help remember these new words!
