I can't thank you enough for your generous donation. My class has enjoyed creating and painting their rocks and are excited to gift them to others. Art is the highlight of our day. Every day the students ask if we will be doing art. I hate the day when we run out of time and can't fit it in.
When the students are creating, they become very focused and quiet and clam. They speak more clearly and coherently. When they are more focused on what is in their hand then what is on the screen, I know I have won!
Art opens up a different part in children. It is a privledge to guide them and see it happen. Thank you again for being so kind.”

The new normal is new every day. I want to give my students the joy of learning in this distance learning model. First graders need a lot of hands on learning. They need more than a computer screen. Creating something of their own willl give them the confidence, curiosity and enjoyment to keep showing up every day to see what is next! I want my students to know that school is enjoyable and their success is important. I want them to be able to see and touch and have something tangible that they can feel a sense of pride in accomplishing. As the year progresses, I want them to think of another student in the class that they will ultimately gift their stone to.
