New Seats for All!
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom that helped us to get some new flexible seating options for my students. We are in love with our new seats and they are often among the first chosen when it's time to chose a seat in our room. The magnetic whiteboards are also a hit and have helped our students practice spelling and writing words in a fun way! We are so grateful for your support!
When our couch first arrived, everyone wanted to sit on it! The students love having a comfy place to lounge with a book in our classroom, or to sit with a lapboard and do their work. It is a great addition to our space and gives our room a cozy feel. Even past students have come to enjoy it after school!
Next year I am hoping to continue to develop a classroom that is more flexible and allows students to pick where they will learn the best in our environment. Having the couch and the comfy floor seats have allowed me to add to this and continue to make it a space that is fun, inviting, and promotes learning. I appreciate your help in making this happen!”

Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped to bring life to our Art Docent program at out school! As you can see in the photos, our first year was a success! Our art docents helped students create beautiful artwork across all the grades! The art was displayed at Open House for all families to see the power of providing art in the classrooms.
Our art docent team works hard to make sure that we have art projects that are relevant to all grade levels, tie into learning about a particular artist or art movement, and are fun for the students. In my classroom, I saw students using techniques that they learned from our art docent in other ways in our classroom, and heard them talking about art terms they had learned. It was amazing to see them branching out to talk about art in such great ways!
This was our first year of having a parent lead art program at our school, and I know that our volunteers are hard at work to make next year's program even more impactful. We so appreciate your donations and helping to make our program a huge success. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!”

Funded Jan 15, 2019Thank you for your donation to our classroom! My students are thrilled to have the play food and cash register to create a store and learn about healthy food. These items have added a whole new area to our developmental play fun and we are so appreciative of your support!
When we first received the items, my students were ecstatic! The sandwich and pizza play food sets lend themselves well to using outside of our kitchen - so we were able to create a store and a picnic area. Students were calling in pizza orders and having picnics in the park - great social interactions for all! As they play, we discuss healthy food options and to make sure they are including their fruits and veggies! The storage bins gave us a way to separate food groups during play, but also store items when play time was over.
This year we've been experimenting more with play and adding more items to our classroom to allow us to be imaginative and creative. Many of my students don't have these kinds of opportunities anywhere else - having the ability to learn through play has developed a classroom of students who are more empathic and caring to the ones around them. I also noticed a huge growth in academic skills this year as well. I don't think that's a coincidence! Thank you for your generosity and for helping to give my students these items to help them become better citizens!”

Funded Dec 12, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity in funding our project to provide basic supplies to the students at our school. These supplies help to stretch our limited budget and provide the basic necessities that our students need in the classroom! We couldn't do it without you!
Since this was a school wide project, our paper order was rather large. The truck that delivered the pallet arrived during lunch - and the look on the students' faces of all that paper was priceless! They have never seen so much paper before at one time! As the paper was being passed out to classrooms, teachers could be heard exclaiming how wonderful it was to have a case of paper for free - no need to ask parents to send in copy paper for Christmas!
The crayons, expo markers and pencils will last us through this year and well into the next school year. This allows us to use the money we have for items that we might otherwise have to buy ourselves. Thank you so much for funding our basic supply needs - we appreciate your thoughtful gesture!”

Funded Dec 7, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity and helping to fund this fantastic project! We are so grateful for your support in helping to make art happen in our classrooms! The supplies will be instrumental in making art happen in every classroom at our school!
This is our pilot year for an art docent program, and it's going great! We've had phenomenal volunteers from our PTA who have stepped in to teach lessons using paints, pastels, markers, nature items and lots and lots of mixed media paper. We are excited to host our first art show during our Open House to display all the students' creations!
Your support has given us the tools we need to make this program a success. Beyond the amazing art that students are having an opportunity to try, they are also learning skills in persevering, trying new things, and are very excited to be at school when it's art day. Thank you so much for helping to make this dream a reality at our school!”

Let's Be on a Team!
Funded Dec 8, 2018Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in funding this project. We so appreciate your willingness to step in and provide tools for our school to make our students successful and happy. Having the opportunity to work together in teams and be physically active is important for their health, as well as their academic growth.
Our students were beyond excited to see the new equipment we received. Basket balls, soccer balls, hula hoops and jump ropes - all of this new equipment has spurred more teamwork and community among our students. It has been so fun to watch them play basketball on the courts or dribble a soccer ball back and forth to one another. Students have been teaching each other how to use hula hoops and others are learning how to jump in to a jump rope game.
Learning how to collaborate, compromise and create goals are fundamental skills that students will use the rest of their lives. Learning these skills while also doing something fun will make it more meaningful. Thank you for providing our students with the equipment they need to practice these important life skills on a daily basis.”

Funded Nov 30, 2018First of all, thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom. We are so grateful that you saw our project and fully funded it!
My students are using the new headphones purchased to practice important skills each day. We are fortunate enough to have a 1:1 ratio of iPads in our classroom - but I bet you know what happens when 28 iPads are all going on at the same time! The headphones have helped the students to be able to focus on the apps they are using. We use apps that help teach literacy and math skills, so students are getting basic keyboard experience as well as learning how to navigate through learning apps. We also use our iPads to listen to stories online - which is improving listening comprehension and reading skills.
The additional product that we were able to incorporate into our classroom was the Osmo. This program allows users to touch items that are seen by the ipad and then integrate into the app for learning. For example, one of the student's favorites to play with are the tangrams. Tangrams help students to see spatial relationships and learn how shapes work together to form new shapes. By moving the actual tangrams in front of the camera, the students are able to create the shape that is on the app. It's been exciting to see how their hands on learning is connecting with technology!
We so appreciate our new gifts and are very thankful for your generosity! Thank you again for fulfilling our wishes and funding this project!”

Funded Aug 9, 2018My students could not contain their excitement when we received all of our new materials! They are perfect for our classroom and are helping us to continue to learn about science and technology! We can't thank you enough! Our science book bin is over flowing with great quality non fiction science books thanks to your generosity!
We now have fantastic storage for our STEM materials - a 6 cubby shelf hold all of our kits and materials for us to explore each day, and a storage bench gives us more seating for reading as well as more storage for our equipment. The students love exploring and building and it's been so fun to see them have such easy access to materials and easy clean up too!
This project helps us to bring in an academic feature to our STEM learning with our new science books and materials to create a reading/storage area for our materials. We will continue to create a variety of hands on experiments and exploration and learning STEM in our classroom. It's been a great motivator and is trickling into all subject areas, helping to engage students throughout the day. Thank you again for your wonderful donations and for helping to make my classroom a warm, loving and inviting place for children to learn and grow!”

Funded Apr 29, 2018This new school year brought fresh faces and eager attitudes to our classroom and to the learning opportunities you provided by funding this project. My new students are beyond thrilled to start their morning with a fun, interactive activity that wakes them up and gets them excited about being at school. They are practicing counting skills, building fine motor muscles, learning the alphabet, and much, much more! And because I have so many options for them to explore, they are engaged and excited to get into each tub!
I am so grateful for your generosity and helping me to put this project into action. I know my students will continue to benefit throughout the year as we grow in our independence and in our learning skills. Having these tubs will allow them to independently explore and learn new skills and practice those that they already know. It is a blessing to have all of these great tools in our classroom. Thank you again for your fantastic donations!”

Funded Apr 30, 2018I can not thank you enough for your generosity and helping me to get these amazing items for my students! While we only had a little bit of time remaining in our school year, my students took to these new materials and immediately enjoyed using them outside our classroom. We were able to create a wonderful seating area with shade and tables to do academic work and for social play.
My students this year have benefited as well. We are able to create an additional learning space right outside our classroom door. This has served as a motivator to students to do great work so they can work outside, and has given all my students an opportunity to learn through play with our picnic kit and magnatiles. It has been so great to see what they are engineering, or watch their pretend play going on a picnic!
I hope to continue adding to our outside classroom by incorporating more science curriculum into planting seeds and growing plants, and providing them more materials to create towers, cars, cities and towns. They really enjoy having the time to be creative and I enjoy watching them learn through exploration! Thank you so much for making this happen!”
