  • Bringing It Home

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

We are so incredibly grateful for your generous donation to our classroom! My students love getting new things to play with, and I love seeing them talking, interacting, socializing and learning through play! These items helped them with pretend play at the Ice Cream Shop and having tea parties - among other things.

My students were beside themselves when I unboxed our new items. The Ice Cream shop was an instant hit and is still one of our top requested centers for play time. Another item that they absolutely love are the colored timers. These reside in our calming area and students love to watch as the colors drip through each other.

My students are still working through the side effects of COVID - one of those being that they did not have the same opportunities to socialize in their early years. These toys and tools have given us many opportunities to learn together, interact, practice manners and get along. We are so incredibly appreciative of the support you gave our class!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Get Ready, Get Set...LEARN!

    Funded Mar 11, 2022

We are grateful for your generosity in funding this project. The items supplied have provided my students with tool kits that they were able to take home to practice fine motor skills in the summer and at the beginning of the school year. And it showed - many of my students have better fine motor skills as a result!

My students are always so grateful and genuinely excited to see our Donorschoose boxes arrive! It's like Christmas showing them what new items we have to use in our classroom. Families too often express their appreciation for the wonderful gifts we have received.

Currently, our class is about to embark on learning about winter traditions from around the world. We will be "flying" to various countries and learning how they get through the winter months. All classes in TK - 1st grade participate, so students are exposed to a wide variety of cultures and traditions. Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom!”

  • Finishing Touches

    Funded Oct 10, 2021

We are grateful for your generosity in funding this project. The tools supplied by this project have provided my students with a safe way to work together and have their own tools to do so. As we move into more "normal" practices in school, I was able to send these tools home with students so that they could continue what they were learning in school with their families.

  • Color by Design

    Funded Sep 29, 2021

I can't even begin to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom! We are so excited to have a color printer, and to be able to have materials, game boards, books, activities in color! Another bonus, we are able to color copy work in class too - so students are able to share with more than one family member! This has been especially beneficial for students who live with two families - they are able to take a color copy of their creations to both families, and share their creativeness, or even just their classwork, with everyone. It's been very beneficial to see how this has impacted not only my students, but their families as well. They are so grateful to be able to have a copy of their child's work.

Thank you again for your generosity - we couldn't do what we do without your support!”

  • STEM Reinvigorated!

    Funded Sep 22, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donation in funding our project. This project helped to provide hands on tools for my students to use at school, and allowed for us to create a dedicated STEM space in our classroom. The storage benches have been especially a hit because not only does it provide a space for students to store materials, it also gives them a place to learn and work as well!

It has been especially important this year that students have lots of opportunities to socialize, explore and interact with each other. We begin our day with free play time using the tools from this project. These tools provide opportunities for discovery, interaction, negotiations, compromising and lots of learning each day.

Again, I am so thankful for the funding of this project and love having these resources available for my students to use each day. It has contributed far more than you can imagine. Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • You Need to Calm Down!

    Funded May 10, 2021

What a crazy year and it's been! I am so incredibly grateful for people like you who go above and beyond to help our students in our classrooms to be successful learners. Thank you so much for your generosity!

My sweet students started their year remotely, and had an opportunity to be in person for the last 9 weeks of school. Of course, there was a catch - safety protocols, social distancing, masks, sanitizing and more distancing was how we were going to have to work in our new environment. Students had to stay at their desks for the whole day - no carpet area was allowed. This would have been dreadful without your support of this project. By funding this project, I was able to give my students quiet fidgets to keep them busy and focused as they learned.

And the best part? It WORKED! These sweet kids did such a great job of following all the protocols and kept themselves focused while learning. I have never seen a more resilient group of students and we are grateful that you helped us keep calm in the midst of this crazy storm. Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Fine Motor Fun!

    Funded May 27, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity during this unprecedented time in schools. We can't thank you enough for all the support we've received in helping out students to be successful learners.

The materials in this project are being used to supply each student with their own fine motor kit. These kits will help them work on fine motor skills at home. We've noticed a severe deficit in fine motor skills over the past few years, and giving families the exact tools and activities to do will help them be able to work on helping their students with this very important skill.

In the classroom, I've introduced all of these activities so that students are able to work on them at home. I know they are going to LOVE their fine motor kits - we'll send them home next week before our two week fall vacation. Judging by how much they enjoy our fine motor time in class, this will be a huge benefit for them at home. Thank you again for your generosity and helping to make this project a reality!”

  • Back to the Basics!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations that allowed me to get the materials I needed for my classroom! While we just returned to in person learning, most of our school year was spent online. The materials provided by this project helped me to be able to make learning as fun as possible by creating activities that were colorful and engaging. The books provided in this project helped me to provide content that was meaningful and relevant to new ideas and topics of interest to my students.

Learning online has not been an easy task for any students this past year, but my kiddos rose to the occasion and did a great job! These materials helped them to have a fun way to learn while at home. We are so incredibly grateful for your support!”

  • STEM to Save the Day!

    Funded Sep 14, 2020

Thank you for your generosity and supporting our classroom during this unprecedented time. Your support means the world to me and my students, and your generous donations have allowed me to bring my classroom to each of my students at home!

These materials were used to supplement kits that had already been sent home at the beginning of the year. With previous Donorschoose projects, I was able to create fine motor and STEM kits for students to use after they completed their work at home. This gave them plenty of practice and ability to explore and discover with tools that they would normally find in the classroom. The tools in this project, letter beads, bear counters, and magnets, further allowed them to create and develop with other items in their kits.

My students were beyond excited to receive their materials. Every time they came for work pick up, there was more for them to add to their kits. Most of them don't have these kinds of "tools" (exploration toys) at home, so providing them was a huge win for everyone. Plus, we were able to share with each other across our distance learning since all students had the same tools available at home!

This project also included gift cards for Teachers Pay Teachers, which allowed me to purchase some STEM curriculum. Since the beginning of the school year, we have provided students with materials once a month to work on a particular STEM activity. One month they had to parachute a holiday character safely from Santa's sleigh, and another they had to catapult a turkey pom pom as far as it could go. Students have been enjoying these activities as well and have become very enginuitive!

Thank you again for your wonderful support and for helping to make this strange year as normal as possible for our kindergarten students.”

  • STEM at a Distance!

    Funded Sep 1, 2020

Thank you for your generosity in helping to take science and STEM education to each of my students' houses! The materials for these kits allowed me to create take home STEM kits to help give students a way to explore and discover at home. We have used the materials in these kits to create at home, and then share our creations together via Zoom. It has been a great way for my students to interact and learn how to socialize with one another!

My students and their families were elated to receive these materials. Many of my students would normally only have access to these supplies at school, so having them at home was a great gift! It has been awesome to hear about how much they enjoyed these special tools and how they are helping them to think and create.

Again, thank you so much for your generous donation that helped to provide these great kits for my students. They were and have continued to be a lifesaver for families at home as we continue through distance learning. We appreciate your kindness!”
