My students live in Kentucky. They attend a middle school in a large city. The students attend all regular classes and come to the visually impaired resource room once a day for a lesson in the expanded core curriculum. One area is technology. My students excel at using technology and use it to make accommodations for their visual impairments in every class, every day. Another is independent living skills. Once a month, I try to teach them to prepare one simple meal that they could cook at home for themselves or for family.
