I teach 12 students in a high school special education classroom. My students are ages 15-20. I work with the same students for the entire school day. We work on all subject areas as well as vocational skills and life skills. I work with students who are on the autism spectrum, have emotional disorders, or have learning and intellectual disabilities. The diversity in my classroom is what makes me excited to go to work every day. I work with students of all different abilities and every student is unique. This diversity has allowed my students to learn from one another and it brings about new possibilities and ideas every day. My goal is to help them become more independent and work on getting a successful job after graduation.
