As a teacher, I can think of nothing more valuable to instill in my students than a love of stories and literature! I teach second grade in a small school in rural Vermont. It is a very low income area with few cultural opportunities within easy travel distance for families. Many of our students have few experiences outside of our small county. Even we, as a school, are stymied by the high cost of transportation or long distances to provide such valuable learning.
